Templar Questions, return from few months hiatus.

StealthStalker
Seems like a lot has changed on me these last two months. I've regularly logged in, but only to research/craft. I have not been able to keep up with the actual class and gear changes. I have a few questions I hope some of you can answer.

These are all in regards to a primary/pure healer point of view, however offensive/caster information will also be useful.

1) What's an ideal setup for gear these days? Prior to the 1.3 set bonus changes I was running 5 Seducer/3 Willow/3 Warlock and had Magicka and Health capped. This does not appear to be as ideal or possible. What options do we have now?

I was considering 5 Seducer/5 Warlock.

PvE gear is something I can consider as well, though may need something to use in the interim.

2) Impenetrable. Speaking of gear, I've read some things about changes to impenetrable. Anything to keep in mind, other traits to consider when re-gearing?

3) Are half my heals still bugged? The primary culprits I'm concerned with are with Extended Ritual not providing the 30% bonus on Breath of Life or Ritual of Rebirth. I'm concerned I may still have to respec back to Purifying Ritual. Which is unfortunate, as the primary reason I elected for extended ritual is for the... extended duration.

Any other skill bugs to consider when going in to respec? Especially healing related.

May have a few more questions as I get back in to the grove, but these 3 are of most interest currently.

My Templar is a sword and board , more of a tanky sort than yours sounds. It also sounds like you're already at the level cap, where i'm still lollygagging at vr5.

All the same , from what I noticed

    1) Warlock set is nerfed, Magicka flood requires 5 pieces not 3. For me , that makes it useless, since you won't ever collect 5 without outranking it, and I don't want that much magicka enchanted/light armoured stuff in my build

    2) Honour the Dead is working as per skill description! This is huge! The power return kicks in as promised. It doesn't stack so if you're casting more than every 8 seconds, the power rebate counts for less and less. For solo self sustain and the odd emergency heal on colleages/self while tanking, it's great though.

    3) Puncturing sweep costs less power and restores more health. Soloing is in danger of becoming a 1 button exercise

    4) Heavy armour is buffed, restores magicka and stamina so long as you're getting hit, scales with your health. My Templar has every attrib point in health and every armour enchant in health, gets 19 stamina and magicka back every 2 seconds when being beaten on.

    5) Veteran content was nerfed, mobs have less health and do less damage, difficulty is a lot closer to pre-vet content.

For me personally, the cumulative effect has been huge. From frequently dying to packs of 3 mobs, to soloing 4 with comfort, to soloing 6 with comfort...

Before all the updates - the bad old days..

After the vet difficulty nerf, fix of honour the dead, and buff of puncturing sweep -

Thanks for the insight, and yeah I'm at level cap. To give more info I've been primarily running as pure light armor healer/caster temp since day 1. Soloing was a pain leveling, but I just cheesed Vampire until VR12 to make it cakewalk and then cured it.

That being said, VR12 Warlock gear can be obtained, so I do believe it's still an option... just trying to work out any thing else.

warlock is still boss. now that you can enchant the jewels with whateveryou want. 5 seducer 5 warlock w spellpower is what i run ( all light) and it is very good. I regularly heal with breath of life more than the tooltip so it must be fixed. still stack at least 5 impen. with that gear combo i can stack all health to maximize blazing shield and still have almost no magica problems; even with all health on gear too.
breath of life is 1000% better than other morph dont even consider it. with a good tank you can run spell sym and never run out of magica for pve.

Excellent. That's pretty much the conclusion I've came to with my last few tinkering sessions. I previously had all health stats and enough health enchants to hit cap. Since they raised it on me I was considering just changing all my enchants to health entirely for pvp, and running the new blazing shield since that shield will be massive.

I used to primarily just healbot for our groups, but being one of the only ones left I'm looking to have the healbot capabilities, and then also the ability to solo.

    So I'm looking at:

All light 5 warlock/5 seducer w/ resto staff for healing (and for secondary bar when solo).
All light 5 Warlock/5 Seducer and 2 something for S/B bar 1, when solo.

All health enchants, with probably health/magicka food or magicka/stam food depending on what my health looks like after stacking all that gear.

    Thanks for the info.

still stack at least 5 impen.

Also, is this the number to strive for?

I've generally ran 3 infused for the major pieces (helm/chest/legs) and the rest impen.
