NB V12 Max PvP Damage Set / Opening attacks

So, looking for thoughts on a max damage setup for Cyrodiil

Right now I am running with the following:
5 Piece Stygian Set (+Spell damage, plus 20% bonus to sneaking damage)
4 Piece Torug set (+Spell damage, +weapon damage)
2 increase spell damage rings
1 necklace with 1400 fire resist
7 medium armor, with all impen, all yellow/purple.
2 Daggers
Maxed dual wield, all passives

I have capped spell and weapon damage...that is way above cap when sneaking/crouched.

Open with Ambush, dark cloak, veiled strike, flurry, and impale...then go from there to drop someone. Prefer to open with veiled strike, but often times not an option because my sneak is slow.

Any thoughts here? Still feel like there is room for improvement. I am using two purple stygian daggers with flame damage until I can afford to upgrade to yellow...but feel I am missing something obvious.

Might drop daggers in favor of swords due to high use of impenetrable...then dropping stygian, but not sure what set I would switch stygian for if I went this route.

Thanks, The Ref

(Note: Light armor and staff is not an option...neither is vampire.)

You would deal more damage just spamming veiled strike rather than flurry. If you are running Stygians and are capped on spell power, there is really no reason for you to use weapon abilities... just use veiled, ambush, and soul harvest for dps. If you are running out of magicka just gear for more magicka. Having high health is good in pvp but if you are a stygian build then you don't need it as much, so you can put more attributes in magicka and get to the cap for more damage.

I also run a stygians build, and sometimes just ambush and soul harvest is enough to drop people... But if its a tanky target or they have quick reactions, veiled strike is the best damage I have, much better than any stamina ability. The build I use isn't dual wield though, its dagger/shield, so I do use Puncture for the armor/spell penetration, and also shield charge is a great skill too.

But anyway I would focus on capping magicka and open with ambush soul harvest and then just use cloak/veiled for dps. The only dual wield abilities I would use in pvp are blood craze for the dot/heal and flying blade because it hits fairly hard.

    Whats your opening dmg?

Have stygian myself but not using it because of the trait is reinforced.

Hmmm, unsure on opening damage, good question, will check tonight.

Yeah, agreed on stygian. At least with using two stygian daggers, I only need 3 stygian armor pieces...other 4 can be impen.

What 5 piece set do you use? I might use Seducer to get magicka up...as my enchants are mostly health, but I guess if spamming veiled is the way to go instead of working in flurry...than I need to make some switches...actually a lot of switches as I have maxed weapon damage.

    heh, going to be expense!

Ah, the "General Greivous" build. Works pretty great for single-target PvE stuff (it's alright for PvP small ganking) but if you're fighting bosses or mobs with a lot of health and defenses, it's not the best since the window in between your first strike and the last 25% of there health (when you would finish with impale) would drop your DPS rapidly making you especially vulnerable in PvP since most people learned how to CC break.

If you want to continue this build, I would stick with the daggers and use the thief stone. Also, make the daggers have the trait which give bonus to crits. The reason you should stay with daggers is because with the last dual-wield bonus, daggers give bonus to crits. Add the crit bonus from the traits on the daggers and that will even out your weapon damage for your flurries keeping your dps higher. Your build seems very well thought out and shouldn't be changed since there is no point in adding anything as far as spell or magicka bonuses.

I'm going with 5 Lamae, 4 Torug's pact at the moment, but the issue for me with Stygian is that you can't just construct it to your liking. I've actually bought & saved a few pieces for when I get a few more levels and hopefully found more Stygian pieces in between. Lamae has a spell damage increase as well, but the increased sneak attack damage with Stygian is what makes me drool.
