what happens to existing gear after Champion System comes out?

You have different levels of materials from VR1-12, but if everyone goes down to max cap at level 50 with VR turning into Champion points, what exactly happens to the tiered items that we have now? Do the stats of VR1, VR4, and VR7 consolidate and all become VR12 equivalent stats or do they keep their original stats? Will they still have some form of tiered restriction or will VR12 gear be able to be equipped by a fresh level 50?

Veteran ranks, Veteran Tiered Gear, and Veteran Rank stas will still be in place as they are now. The only thing that the Champion System is doing is adding "champion points" per veteran rank as a reward system for veteran progression.

zenimax really needs to make this known to many people think that vet ranks are going away when they are not

they actualy did... in the same interview where they introduced the champion system they also expained what change it will do to the actual veteran system...

but people simply stop at half of the info... they than repost only that part and people began to assume that zenimax didn't talk about what will happen to VR bonuses... instead of going to search for the info that is already out there ^^

Actually the guys at quake con already stated the champion system will be implemented then the next update all veteran ranks will go away. This will bring us all to level 50 and the side progression will be in champion points and no longer veteran ranks. So good question as to what will happen with the gear and stuff from VR.... I'm assuming it will still be tiered or something i just dont know how. Sadly the next point id be more concerned about is what is coming with the champion system. This interests me alot and i hope it hits the PTS soon so we can get tons of testing in to prepare for the launch and take care of hopefully most of the bugs in the system

Only thing i really care about the champ system att his point is that they make the right exp conversion.

They better not come foward and say we just lost all we did right there.

One of the community managers came out and said the VR were going away and would go from 50 to Champion point system. I was shocked completely. it was a total 180 from what they spouted at games con

Ok , i understood that , what i meant is , all those millions of exp points we collected up to vr12 should then become champion points of whatever the name is.

What i mean is that they better not just roll back our chars to 50 like nothing happened.

They are staying silent on that. if they wipe your EXP after you have completed Cldwells silver and gold will probably cause all the end game players to quit in unison

They have mentioned in a few post that those who already have veteran ranks when the Champion System is introduced will be rewarded with Champion points. Not sure what the amount will be and if there is a cap on how many points can be earned this way.

Be great if ZoS can manage a Q/A thread that answers some of these questions, but gamers in general are a bunch of whining pieces of lint that no matter what happens they will act like its the end. Gamers only have themselves to blame for not having more information.
