How much Fireresistance needs a Vampire?

Hi,

normaly i wouldn`t play a Vampire but i tested one to get some Colours and now i like them. I believe i am cursed now :D .

I have some Questions and i don`t find the Answers in the Forum, maybe someone can help me out.

1. How much Fireresistance i need, to counter the + 50% Firedamage a Vampire get? Can i counter this with one Glyph of Fireresistance at the Veteran Ranks or do i need this Glyphs on all Jewels?

2. Does the Magic Resistance helps against the Fireweakness or Firedamage?

3. I read Silverbolts works on Vampires and that is fine because they need more Weaknesses, but helps the Magic Resistance against this Bolts? Or is a Vampire dead if this Bolt hits him?

Question 1. is important because i don`t want to anger my Healer in a Group, if we do some Dungeons with Firemonsters :D .

MFG Murmeltier.

    1. Not sufficiently for Veteran levels, a number of people have commented that the caps on spell resistance (including specific elemental resistance) kill them because the damage from abilities isn't capped.

    2. Magic resistance helps against Fire Damage, not Fire Weakness, it helps offset the weakness, but it is subject to being capped.

    3. Magic Resistance would help against Silver Bolts/Leash.

This is all from reading others comment, so if anyone is a vampire at veteran levels please feel free to correct me.

Testing indicates you can ignore enemy spell resists completely in pvp. So no amount of fire resists will help you.

So you mean Fireresistance don`t help a Vampire to reduce the Fire Damage significantly? Why everyone says you only need some Fireresistance Enchants on your Jewels to counter the Fireweakness?

Well, i don`t know the Facts, maybe some more Player here can help us out.

Bad info here...Tanks and NBs use spells and don't have high spell penetration. Fire pots...or any other fire siege hurts bad without my fire resist equipment on

Not many medium or heavy armor users use fire damage. You're rigt about siege though.

Sure, fire siege a vamp killer but then so are DK's with all of their fire based abilities.

1400 fire resist + 1200 armor accounts for the fire weakness. I have tested this. If you have ^^^^^^ this, you will take damage as if you were wearing no armor at all. So, that being sad... I feel it's fairly safe to assume that ~2500 fire resist will account for your 50% weakness.

It's a ring slot. Who can afford Fire Resist. My VR9 Vampire Witch has several thousand on a couple of rings but NEVER wears it.

You get used to avoiding fire and as I am always moving in combat, I'll be leaving the fire area almost right away anyway. FPS skills are useful when hardwired into the brain. ;)

spell resist wont negate it alone. And is much harder to reach its cap than fire resist itself.

Spell resist is good for destro staves, standard, and weapon enchants... But it's whip that I've found to be the most dangerous as a vamp... Whip is mitigated with armor, not SR.

Cannot counter +50% firedamage in common case.
Look even you get fire res mitigation cap and gain for example 50% mitigation for fire dmg you actually you'll get 75% fire dmg (150% dmg*50%mitigation = 75%), while non-vampire can get only 50% of fire dmg. So you cannot comletely compensate fire dmg flaw with fire resist.
