Who Actually Wanted To Be a NB Caster Pre-Release?

I played caster Dunmer Destruction Nightbalde and tanking from level 1 to Vr2. Had a magicka based stealth and tanking period and from V2 to V7 and changed to a more complete magicka ranged dps after. Nightblades were always meant to be mages in TES.

The magicka based NB is only a pve thing though for most part and it is a pve thing only since they introduced trials. In pvp though 60% of NB are lame archers,20% dual wiled,15% 2H and the rest destro/resto or 2xresto.

Nightblades were meant to be what ever you wanted them to be, not just mages.

If they were meant to be mages, which class was meant to be the rogue? Since there are 4 primary arch types and 4 classes. Which class the priest and which the warrior. If any was meant to be Mage, I suspect that was sorcerer. But all can be any.

To answer your question no class was ment to be a rogue. Classes are a collection of spells, passives an ultimates.
More precisely, any class is intended to be able to be a rogue, but the relevant guilds to fulfill this are yet to be launched.
Remember all classes can use stealth. And all classes can use any weapon or armour. And once thieves guild and dark brotherhood are releases all classes will be able to join them.

People need to stop equating ESO classes with the limiting classes in most mmos.

You kind of missed that I was making just this point! I was not asking any actual questions.

I fell in love w/ the idea of a caster NB (warlock-style caster) long before early access, and I'm pleased that the playstyle remains viable.

I also have a stamina-based NB focused on 2 handers that I have a ton of fun w/. It's not really a "sneaky rogue" archetype, but something more like a barbarian. Also a ton of fun, though much squishier than my caster NB.

No, I saw it, I just restated it for emphasis.

I like to play a warlock or a necromancer in mmos,so when i saw that there is no such option in ESO i chose the NB as the siphoning tree is the closest thing to it.However i'm totally bored of it right now as the NB caster isn't really relying on dots and debuffs to bring down enemies slowly and painfully but it's basically a generic nuker with some life leeching abilities.

I rolled a NB with the intention of making him a "stealthy tank".

I didn't stick with it as, frankly, I have been disappointed in the NB class. Hope it gets better though!

I did, the day of launch, after I rerolled my level 15 templar because she was so ugly. I wanted to play a DoT based Warlock/shadow priest though. It's a shame NBs DoTs are so weak.

I'm trying to roll a new pally, but I just can't stand the pain of leveling again.

I wanted to be a heavy armor Dual Wield or 2h Dark themed spellsword.
Nightblade seemed the only logical choice at the time.
Generally, the Siphoning tree is what drew me to the class.
Hopefully, with Spellcrafting, I can completely move away from the stealth part.

I enjoy playing "weird" specs from time to time so yes. Didn't expect it to become the norm though.

That said, I'm glad NB isn't just another rouge, even though you can play it as one.

Here's the build i run, one "melee" and one ranged bar, both with resto staff though, and 7/7 Light.
