Smaller Controlled PvP

I have been browsing the forums and have not found an active post about creating smaller grouped PvP.

The massive beast that is Cyrodiil and Alliance war was a great idea and it drew in a lot of PvP focused players from other games to come and check it out.
However with the inability to effectively level your character/skills in PvP, relying on zerg tactics to achieve anything in the War and having such a large distance to cover before being able to even find a fight has caused a lot of PvP minded players to loose interest. You have effectively taken the power from the individual in "Player vs Player."

I feel that I and others like me who like small group pvp spend the majority of time in Cyrodiil hunting down stragglers or trying to have small fights in between keeps.
I believe that this problem can be addressed by introducing smaller group instanced PvP with objectives. Create 12/24 man controlled games, have CTF and king of the hill maps and give people the choice to create teams.

Having these other options will encourage more players to come back to PvP and enjoy the game for what it is. Addressing the xp issue in pvp would enable people to have a full leveling experience in PvP and make lower levels more enjoyable in such an unforgiving environment.

please leave your thoughts below, any other suggestions can only help ZMO with future decisions.

yes I am aware that details about "imperial city" are about to be unveiled.

I hope Imperial city will be lik the minigames from age of conan or battlegrounds from Wow. Actually my guildmates wish some sort of guildcomparison into this game. So guilds can form their pvp groups to fight other guilds (gvg) somehow. Would be nice though because cyrodil gets boring without anything to aim for and all those systemabusers in terms of emperor handholding wich is really annoying. Also a duelfunction would help to learn about the own classes skills.

Just some thoughts that many people actually share and im sure about that.
Zenimax u should reveal ur pvp plans pretty soon ^^

I absolute agree Snrubling. That would give the game a way better shape.

It doesn't talk about small scale pvp, but Mr. Sage does bring up 3v3v3 type PvP. He mentions that it was successful in demo form and they are considering development of it, however it is not currently being developed. Imperial City thing they are developing I believe is a dungeon that is only available to controlling faction, so therefore not really PvP...per say.
Outside of this, I agree with OP that we could use some smaller types of PvP, arenas...capture the flag....node control that is limited to smaller numbers and 30mins(ish) timer....etc. I don't always want to commit to full on war to get my PvP needs :)

Join the guild "Legends" you'll get all your arena type fix there. That's the great thing about this type of PvP. You can find a way to have your meta game without taking up the devs time creating a type of pvp that they never envisioned for this game. For once, I'd like to see 3 faction pvp evolve past the initial stages before the new gen gamers stunt its growth. That's why Ive followed the developement of this game since early beta to this point. The promise and vision of AvAvA large scale combat...not the cookie cutter esport that can be found in 998372 other titles.

Please no pre-chewed instanced PvP. Like said above, the beauty of Cyrodiil is that it provides you freedom. It's funny how on one side people lament ESO for not being as much of a sandbox like Skyrim, but then when it comes to AvA, which is the actual sandbox, they seem to be unable to utilize the sandbox they desire.

Please do not call PvP in MMOs for E-Sport, it is not!! Believing it is and the joke is on one self.

Also take the opportunity to arrange lesser playermade events, which is an excelent option, but some people rather want to be put into a box and is why I do not understand why they are playing TESO that is so much more out of the box.

Here is the deal... at least as how it work for me... I acquire a game... I play it for a while... if I like it I keep playing... if I do not.. I stop playing and find some other game to mess around in, or returning to the previous one that support the feature I like.
