Collector Achievements

Some of the dyes require the collector achievements. I hope the devs know these are currently unattainable, as no mobs drop collectables right now. Also it's considered common, so I'm ruling out the possibility that these drops are just ultra rare.

    I had assumed these drops were ultra, ultra rare as I have none after 400hours on my main. I was wrong?

    I do hope that you realize that the day 1.3 launches NOBODY will have access to every single dye right, even the diehards will have a few missing on day 1? There will be some serious achievement grinding for a good time after it launches though, which will be fun imo. ZoS might also bring out new dyes and attached achievements continually as the game matures. Enemies not dropping (or dropping with such low drop rate that it's basically impossible right now) doesn't mean it won't EVER be possible.

    Yes, correct. However it seems strange to release a new mechanic bound partially to broken/unattainable/not yet implemented achievements.

    They drop on the PTS, they are just really rare. So it's fixed for the update but broken on live. Just wait for the update...

    That's awesome news. I wasn't even sure the devs realized they were broken. It is kinda lame that the thousands of kills we got in the past had no chance of dropping them and now we have to do all that work from scratch.

    Regarding not having all the achievements when 1.3 goes live, the patch notes say they are adding 47 or so new ones.

    Attention Zenimax: Stamina builds don't hold up to magicka builds, and this is causing most of your class imbalance. It makes melee weapons and bows weaker than staves and class abilities. It makes medium and heavy armor less desirable than light armor. Fix this imbalance, and you'll address most of your balance issues.

    They said a long time ago that the collectible drops were not in the game yet. Presumably waiting for this release. So they knew they weren't working. Bummer that we have to start from scratch though. Glad to hear the PTS on 1.3 is dropping them now.

    @lorail, Is it like the fishing achievement where the item doesn't go into inventory?

    @Dominoid , no. You get an item in your inventory that you have to click, it uses the item, then you get the corresponded achievement. For example, you get a skull from skeletons, blue in rarity, click it to use and it vanishes and the collect skull part get's a check mark. Some items are not drop, they are on different places/caves/etc. and you have to find them, I remember a guitar on a 4 man elite dungeon like that, you click it and it gives you a line a of text and the achievement unlock.

    @lorail, seriously static placed collectibles in dungeons? That's awesome. One of my favorite Skyrim mods is Unique Treasures which placed tons of unique items around the world to find. At this point though I hope the places are static but the item is random because it would be next to impossible to go back through entire old zones looking for an item. Cool either way.
