Why do vamps look so bleh?

I really liked the look they got after Dawnguard. They looked like a creature of the night and intimidating. Not someone whos came out of a Twilight fanfic.

Dawnguard introduced Vampire Lords. In ESO we're regular vampires, so we can't look like Vampire Lords. Quite logical. So we look like we always did, pale and ugly. Can't say I like it, it's one of the reasons that kept me from becoming a vampire in TES games more than once, but it is what it is.

At least Khajiit's fur should not turn to moon-color, as lack of blood in skin should not copy to fur-tissue that doesn't require blood to stay shiny.

I don't know about twilight but they should have some issues with sunlight for sure.

Insofar as I know, there's a lorebook somewhere that indicates the way vampires currently look in game is completely wrong - we /should/ look completely normal, except for maybe the eyes.

I remember a lorebok that I ran into a while back...it was a story about the vampire hunter who talks to an old man, asks him about and then goes to face those breeds (IIRC, one of them can reach through ice). At the end of the small story, the hunter asks about a certain breed that is apparently indistinguishable from a normal mortal, then finds out that he has been talking to one of those the entire time and becomes dinner. If someone happens to run into that one, please share the location, as I think the strain of vampirism is the same one talked about at the end of that lorebook.
