Help - NB Bow Solo PvP Gank build

Megamatch
Megamatch
Hello ESO people.

I want to roll a nightblade for solo ganking with a bow. If anyone can help me suggest a suitable spec for this would be awesome. Should I use magica still with bow but with medium armor for weapon crit or ?

Preferbly with big burst. If someone could please help me I would really appreciate it.
I dont have any experience with it so please suggest me something you know works!

Thanks in advance guys.

Snipe and Venom Arrow are the only real skills you need on the bow, everything else can pretty much be done with NB class skills using things like Mass Hysteria (dogs and cats living together!). Hit around 1900 stamina and you can easily hit with Snipe from stealth for over 1k and a Venom Arrow for around 500 (if my kill chart is anything to go by after my deaths).

That said, I can do a lot more damage from stealth with Ambush and Soul Harvest.

If you want real burst dps go with DW, medium armour and soft cap magicka.

Hmm okay, mind if I ask why is DW better then the other weapon lines?

Is it possible to Mark target > Snipe > Cloak > Snipe and be stealthed during the second snipe?

DW have better passive abilities to begin with (like a 10% crit chance by wielding dual daggers)

Also you can stun lock the target with class abilities in PvP and force him to burn stamina by using melee abilities. You can't do that with snipes.

Ambush-->Incapacitating Strike-->flurry/flying blades-->killers blade does much more damage than 2 snipes, and when coupled with medium armour and pots, you should have 100% crit chance. Add a Mark target right before you open, and your target is either dead or a tank.

PvE wise, concealed weapon/surprise strike one shots everything up to lvl 50 (and probably everything in vet content now with the nerf..)

    DW>bow for dps.

Bow? PvP? Come on you serious?

Have you not noticed that all your class skills are based on magica? And some of them are ***, having their crit chance based on stamina crit instead of magica crit?

If you want to compete with the best, this is why you created this thread is it not? You can not screw up your build by splitting your focus between magica based skills and stamina based skills.
Doing that might be fine in pve but not if you want to fight those who understands the game mechanics, and seeing how a child must have done it, it's not that hard to understand.

If you truly must, then you can use bow.. but none of the skills, or possibly only 1 cc / interrupt skill. But splitting focus between magica and magica crit and stamina will not put you up there in the top.

Don't really agree with your tone, but do agree with your points. I use a bow, but use no bow skills or stamina skills, I really don't see the point in a single knock back, when I could put a fear in its place which fears two people, snares them and reduces their weapon power.

And while snipe is nice, I'd rather build Ultimate with Siphon skills and a bow and use Ambush/Soul Harvest when I've lined something up to be made dead.

Okay sorry for being a bit nooby here and this might be why I dont really understand why DW is better.
The passive you are refering to is "Twin blade and blunt" and according to my other nightblade when I equip 2 weapons, I only get bonus off the mainhand thus 5% which I can also get with bow.

The other DW passives appear to be only affectng DW Skills. Am I wrong? I can however see the appeal of a good stam spam skill with a slow attached aka Flying Blade.

Has there been a change to how crit works for NB abilities? I remember seeing in Beta videos from Mystborn and basicly explaining "if it “acts” as a melee ability, then its melee crit" so veiled strike, ambush etc works of weapon crit.
I've been away for awhile so wondering, has this been changed?

I was hoping that it would be possible to get much weapon crit and soft cap both stam and magica using food.

But IceDread perhaps instead of sounding condescending you could actually suggest a build? What do you think is a good one for solo ganking?

Yeah I came out a bit strong there, was not my intention but frustration with the game system design about stamina/ magica and the general tone in the forums where 1/3 seems to understand the flaws, 1/3 is clueless and claims it's all good the devs were not drunk when they did this part and 1/3 does not care since the game overall works.

When I realized that NB was bugged a long time ago and more and more realized how screwed NB was back then I put it on the shelf. I plan to take it forth again soon but I'm busy with other chars. It was still however doable to play, especially some builds, it was however against my principles to play something bugged.

I do not think they've changed the crit, so that part is to my knowledge still extremely bad but I belie the class is playable. I'd have to do some tests to verify and I've not had the time, when I pick it up again I'll check, sorry.

At this particular time, I recommend Sorcs as the best char for pve by far, then with the dk nerfs the classes beside sorcs is not that far from each others, not if you skill optimize and go with 5 light pieces and staff.
