I wasted two points in Energized already, unfortunately without Critical Surge's profiting from its added damage. Do you know by any chance if improved healing from the warrior sign synergizes with this builds self-healing abilities?
@phl0w To relieve the boredom of vr levelling I changed my entire build regularly so that I levelled all the skills lines and all the morphs. I also stopped reading or listening to the question text... after completing my own faction I felt little need or desire to know about the woes of the others. Finally I did some PvP and some pve in PVP to keep it interesting.
Reporting back from having played some more.
Mind you, I am only VR4, so I am running this build for PvE leveling.
The first thing that struck me instantly while questing was the single attack skill (Blinding Flurry). Seriously, spamming one skill all the time is not my definition of fun (even if it's interrupted by refreshing support skills like Critical Surge). Secondly, engaging combat hidden is too important for fighting efficiently. However, approaching every combat in a way so you may benefit from actually engaging stealthed takes way too much time. Taking into account that most fights during leveling are unintentional through drawing aggro of 2 or more mobs, you're caught off guard pretty much all the time, thus starting at a severe disadvantage, meaning longer fights than necessary. This just adds to the already huge amount of time needed in this game.
Don't take this personally, I've been playing with your "Dark Reaper" from 1-50, and enjoyed myself very much. But VR1-VR4 was just plain tedious "work". I guess, I am just sick of TESO by now. The mind-numbingly boring grind of the same fetch quests, and dungeon templates over, and over, and over again after completing the storyline is just too much for me. While the introduction of Champion Points was an incentive to pick up the game again, it was only a short-lived one. I MIGHT put up with the grind if there actually was ANYONE to play with, but regions are dead empty after the starting levels (1-20), and I don't have any MMO-playing friends.
So, again, do not take my developed gripes with the game personally. I just don't see myself doing the same things over, and over again for another 12 veteran ranks.
Is this build still viable?
First of all: Thanks so much for taking my concerns seriously, and not flaming me as being a troll or whatever.
I've been playing ESO since Beta, and have paid quite a bit for subs over the month until it's gone free. So, not here to bash the game. On the contrary, trying hard to really like it.
You guys are amazing. By showing genuine interest in my concerns you made me re-download the game, and give the whole different-builds-approach a try. I was so frustrated, I uninstalled the game. Back to downloading what feels like a trillion GB ;-)
My quick venture into GW2 (2 days, level 40) kept things in perspective. What for the first like 20 levels felt like a fresh approach to questing was quickly debunked by me as yet another system relying on the same fetch quests, kill X, and escort missions based leveling as the rest out there. Nothing new there, then. With worse graphics, worse crafting, and worse dungeon play.
I'm actually looking forward to playing around with skills again, and switching to your Dark Reaper for endgame. Could use another free respec LOL.
Cheers!
Thats very similar to what my dual wield stam sorc would ahve looked like IF crit surge would still have worked with flurry after the update.
As for CP i wholeheatedly recommend trying out both Quick recovery from the lord and even blessed from the apprentice. With the lowe TTK of 1.7 health sustain has become quite important to win fights and just a few points into these passives can help quite a bit in stiking the balance where you outheal your opponents damage.
What's changed?Thats very similar to what my dual wield stam sorc would ahve looked like IF crit surge would still have worked with flurry after the update.

Having fun leveling again. Switched to your "old" Reaper, with prison, and both blood craze+flurry as damage skills. Much easier time. However, I am under the impression that I run out of Stamina much faster than before the patch, and that my self-healing abilities aren't as effective. Have there been changes?
6+ months later, With DB coming out, have you tested this build?
Also interested in your update.
Parked my DW Sorcerer, i.e. The Dark Reaper, at v5, and played my mag NB to v16. With all the changes to stamina builds, and in particular this build's skills, I always felt handicapped. My NB just breezed through Cadwell's Almanac from v1-v10, kiling large group of mobs with ease.
Really hope that stam Sorcerers will be viable again in DB. Looking forward to your update.
