For the love of Talos, Zenimax, let us stack siege weaponry.

Seriously why has the siege weaponry been working like this ?, right now i have no other options but to drop my provisioning and/or enchanting items at the bank or just outright delete them, sure you could say it is the way it is to avoid people spamming such siege weaponry, but it's not like we can't just talk to a random siege vendor after putting out some 20 oils (haven't actually done that).

I heard from someone random that siege was supposed to be stackable, but somehow the system got bugged in the betas or something like that.

Plz zen let uz manach ynbentori proprly.

4 of my alts act as banking characters.
    One for refined basic materials(ingots...)
One for special crafting materials(tempers, trait gems...)
One for provisioning and alchemy materials
    One for enchanting runes.

On my main, i have 13/90 inventory at the start of the day(in cyrodiil. in Pve, it's 13/150).

That's a nice suggestion, but you having to do that in order to have enough inventory slots for PvP proves there's something REALLY wrong with the current system.

Well its the price i have to pay for having all crafting skills. If i stuck with one i could probably just leave the mats in the bank.

Don't give attention to any f..king rumors. Nobody knows what is intended by the developers unless they officially say it. And as I recall the didn't.

I'm against stacking of siege weapons. I see a widely abuse of them. In every battle on an open field people are using siege weapons as a substitute for their class abilities, because siege weapons do more damage and do AoE damage too. TESO has many inept PvP players, in fact so many I never encountered in another MMORPG, and espicially those players use nearly exclusively siege weapons, because they don't understand their class ablities and how to play with them.

I would like a system like in DAoC, where you could place siege weapons only at fixed points near a keep and not everywhere in the RvR area. This would end this abuse of siege weapons and players would have to revert to using their own abilities more often.

I can never open the 500 something mail things I have because my inventory is full of oils, stone ballistas, fire ballistas, stone trebs and forward camps..

It would be nice if there was atleast a seperate inventory for siege equipment, because I hate wasting my AP by destroying the items just so that I can put stuff in my inventory.

They should limit the amount you can carry. Then you wouldn't be QQ'n about it taking so much space. ;)

I have 4 alts as banking chars too, so my main character has at least 40 free slots in its inventory before going into PvP.

In DAoC every item in the game, even the grey stuff you would sell to a NPC vendor, had its weight, so it was restricted how much a character could carry (depending on its strength). This would be a good thing too. And it would intensify the often by Zenimax stated 'immersion' of the player into the game. ;)

Then let us stack the siege but only have a fixed amount of 6 of each at a time, i don't think you would use anything else for taking down a keep if you are not going alone ._. keeps things balanced IMO

    According to
    http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/discussion/100211/patch-notes-v1-1-2

Siege equipment can be stacked to five in the inventory (with the exception of forward camps and mercenary contracts).

But it was reported that it was not working and of course... ZOS turned a blind eye..

They actually explicitly listed it in the patch notes a month or more ago that you could now stack seige. It just never worked.

In my view, that would ruin part of the sandbox aspect of Cyrodiil - some of the most amazing, epic battles I've participated in which involved siege weapons took place nowhere near a keep.

They've already limited my FPS so I don't have to complain about being nerfed or speedbugs.

I think it has to do with siege weaponry having durability, so once you use it, it is then a different item than the unused items having durability missing. Which i mean would be fine if it just unstacked that one item and left the others stacked, but i guess the never got around to coding siege weapons to stack.

I remember reading something about this as well. It's similar to Armor not stacking. Since they have health bars, it's treated differently. Probably an unforeseen issue we arent aware of.

If this was the case when you quick slotted them wouldn't only the one show up instead of all in your inventory?

You should feel lucky to be able to carry multiple seige in this game. In His last game (DAOC) you couldnt even carry 1 full seige by your self and move you had to have a bunch of people all carry equipement for one seige. it took 3 people to carry a full ram or treb.

From What I have been told its a Technical issue, the lack of stacking.

As when you retrieve siege and it enters the stack the whole stack resets to the damage of the siege.

Some suggestions were put forth to Brian Wheeler on other ways to tackle this and such. So hopefully in the future it will happen, but as it stands now it seems they are limited due to the "tech" ie: they are coded like armor, not like resources and cannot stack just like armor cannot.

Then why don't you make siege weaponry "consumable items" that after being used take an extra slot in your inventory?, maybe with some LUA coding ZOS could make this work with the quick slots too.

This actually wouldn't be a good idea, Mainly because Defenders would have no way to stop a larger group from eventually breaking down the wall.

Right now you can slowly destroy their siege till they run out, If you could stack siege items, One dude might have 100 Ballista's in his bag, and you'd never be able to kill them all before they got the walls down and were invading. The only defense that'd be viable in the game would be turtling up top of the keep with oil.

Also, to give you an idea how DAOC worked, it had the weight limit, that was based on the Strength stat, you could pick up a realm ability that increased weight limit (I had like 1 or 2 points in it, mainly for carrying catapults) Anyway, Siege in general in that game weighed a lot, so realistically you could only carry around 1 siege weapon at a time usually (the materials for it) and you didn't want to do it often in Group vs Group because if you were overburdened you were snared, and eventually you'd be rooted in place if it was to low, So a Caster naturally would not run with Siege Weapons because they had no strength stat, and a single Strength debuff would usually over burden them if they were carrying one, thus they were rooted in place and killed quickly.
