Sorc pet exploding question

Also a sorc haven't respeced into the imp/clanfear.

Was fighting another sorc today and he kept on summoning the pet then I can only assume desummoning it as it exploded on me everytime and stunned me as soon as it came it went. Is this intended to explode and stun when you unsummon the pet? I only thought it was when it died, itseems a little silly/redundant to make it proc off unsummoning.

Just read the tooltip of the skill . Clearly says "on death or upon unsummoning ". Skill itself is bugged right now so You are gonna see more and more people using it, tho this skill is easy to beat - the radius on explosion is really small.

Yeah I managed to win the fight just think its a little stupid for explosion off unsummoning, ty though.

I still have yet to see a single shred of proof thatt can double hit.

Even after days of using it and being hit by it have I seen the double proc occur before.

No one can even tell me what causes a double hit (if it ever does happen). I am therefore skeptical until I see some kind of a proof.

One guy makes a thread asking if it can double hit and suddenly everyone treats it like doctrine.

Vis I posted screenshot in the other thread ... just check it and u will see that I'm getting explosion from 2 sources. I tested it on 2 friendly EP players already and I confirmed it with other sorcs.

Look at your picture closely ...

If it was double proccing then you would see the sorcs name every other hit (which is not the case).

He hit you with 5 unsummons. If there is a bug it comes from sometimes the damage being ascribed to the caster and not the pet. The magnitude of each hit seems consistent that this is not a double proc bug but a death recap bug.

Death recap bugs abound, and you need to know more about the game to spot them and know why they occur.

Edit: Show us a video so we can personally count the number of explosions to prove it is a recap text error and not a double proc.

There's nothing bugged about this skill, it works exactly as it says. Someone mentioned a double hit, I've never seen it do that. (I use a combat log) It does do a small aoe.

In a recent patch they even clarified the tooltip.

Volatile Familiar: This ability’s tooltip now mentions it also explodes when unsummoned.

Really either You are trying Your spec not to be fixed or just didn't bother with even checking it. I wanted to use this spec to play for fun and found about the bug. Even people from other factions confirmed that it is bugged . If You are sorc it takes 1 min to see that it is bugged

The damage doesn't show on ur logs ... You need to ask other faction to check it and u will see that the damage on logs and actual damage u make isn't the same. Stop posting wrong information if You didn't even check it.

I have now personally tested it on players and against NPCs and recorded the tests.

My findings:

-It DOES sometimes double hit on players

It does not show on combat text or sparsers. It does however show on the enemy's hp bar. Please see the video:
