NA - Volendrung - The End of DC Emperor Farming

A little back story. During the first campaign run, my guild decided that we would make a run for the Emperorship once the new camp started. My personal goal vas to hit V4 so I could have a better chance at ganking v12s.

It was obvious a few days into the new campaign, that we would have to be playing 24 hours a day to generate the AP to get Emperor based on the AP gain on the top of the board., then the "Emperor Farming" began and a new plan rose from the ashes of the first.

The new plan was now to get Emperor.. and hold it. Force the emperor farms to have to get and ever increasing AP count to get a new Emperor until they quit. And to make sure that whoever gets emperor in GnG doesn't abdicate, our Guild master promised to kick them from All GnG affiliated/allied guild.

Somethings I noticed while chasing the top of the leader board was how random some of the resource and keep captures were. Since i was not part of the groud i was not able to see where the Dc zergs were going when the transited out of the keep we just captured.

I got my AP points mainly by chasing the Dc Emp Zerg train and repairing walls/ defending abandoned keeps after the DC zerg left, when DC was farming
just chasing AD/EP zerg train ganking former emps for sport and fun......

Once I hit about 150k AP I was approached by a guild who shall (for now) remain nameless asking what my intentions were and if I wanted them to help me get emp. They told me I had to joining their guild and TS3
so I did.... for 30 minutes. while I was there, they openly discussed Emp farming, when the guild master and there guild members confirmed my suspicion I quit ts and the guild.

I was in a 'pug' early fri morning, by after noon it turn into the GTSRN zerg group. here is where I saw 1st hand how they were AP farming and it also shed light on what I saw as sometimes random keep/resource captured. There is a broken quest for Blue Road Keep that will complete if you take ANY keep or resource. They would take a keep then travel to South High Rock to turn it in, the someone in the group would share it again, ad infinitum. I quit the group soon after. The GnG guild-master has reported this quest as glitched.

Later in the eventing, at 200k AP, as I was following/helping the DC zerg I noticed that no longer was anyone resing me when I died. They would walk up to me, then leave. No proof as to why, just thought it odd, since I was resing everyone I came across.

I was whispered by a member of the guild who shall for now remain nameless and was told that the guild was nervous about my intentions and whether or not I was going to abdicate once I got Emp. I told told them what they wanted to hear.

Late Friday night I continued to chase the DC zerg train, still not part of group, the former Dc emp who was ahead of me by 60k abdicated, which put me in line for emperor. Which I received early Saturday in the 0'dark hours.

For the record I have no intention now or EVER of abdicating the top of the DC Volendrung leader board.

Guts n Glory now call upon all true heroes of fair play and goodness to join us in defending Cyrodil from the DC emperor farmers and the unwashed contagion that are Pact barbarians, the Dominion hordes, and the DC usurpers.

I just want to get back to PvP. @Pathfinder‌ may be deposed or overtaken on leader board, but he will keep the bar up far enough that only those who really work for it will become emperor (or cheaters). He has promised me and the guild that we will never abdicate.

Once they remove the BRK cheat only those who are really going to play and stay in Volendrung will have a chance at Emp. Hopefully they will remove or revamp the whole emp thing.

BTW, i love the way that after he announced not abdicating we went to hit a farm and out of the 10+ DC people there everyone stood aside while the AD guys specifically targeted him and then no one res'd him, but did take the time to talk smack....that is the state of PvP today.

Nice for a so called emp, to say he got it legit, then to talk crap, he rode the coat tails of a hard working guild who took every keep. He never repaird a wall or laid down a seige, He is a fake Emp. who does not deserve it.

rode the coat tails? You mean he fought to help DC guys, but he did it without the quests for the keeps or the BRK cheat. You think that guild worked hard. Why don't you (or the guild you rep) try to reach 200k on leader board without the quests, with everyone working against you.

He joined a group with that guild one time to figure out how someone who was not on leaderboard could overtake him at 140k in a few days. So tell me how this coat-tail riding works, or the "siphoning" AP works.

Currently that group is doing everything in their power to overtake @Pathfinder‌ and i am glad, though 40,000 AP in just 2 hours seems a little odd. He cannot keep up with that group/guild working together. They are taking all the resources and castles (with EP and AD suspiciously absent I might add, i was just starting to think better of the other alliances too) except there is the one that on the ring that makes Emp they are holding off (again suspicious that such a precarious position with no EP or AD).

As far as "never repaired a wall" is just trying to further discredit him. I personally gave him dozens of siege equipment (everything I had from last campaign), i spent all 100k AP across 2 chars (everything I had from last campaign) to supply him and the guild and provided uncountable repair material and personally went in and helped him repair walls with, literally, stacks of stone and some wood repair (which by the way probably reduced the amount of AP he could have gotten). We could not slow down AD or EP and later when whoever was working together between them (earlier post) it became even more difficult. I even spent 15-20k on stone once. When all three started working together they start knocking down more than one wall. Callouts got only silence or trolls.

So wheres your guild at now? we are here defending like we do everyday. We will lose it eventually, but at least we stayed as we always do and defend as long as we can. So anyhow, Glad you got emp. as we are trying also, but one thing we dont do is flip it on purpose, we grind it out, and fight to the last keep.

We fought for a little, but after you gave @Pathfinder‌ grief we went to started working on resources away from your group and you all were doing such a great job we left you to it. You did not want our help and made a big deal about not needing help.

I am glad you are/were defending the map and there is a new Emp and if he stays in the campaign on the leaderboard (emp or not) then we will not have another issue. If you guys go to a normal rotation like the last DC guild in Volendrung, then you will never hear from us and we will help defend and crown your Emps. A normal rotation being that the Emp actually does his best to defend a map for at at least a few days, I would say a week days of doing everything in his power to keep it (with our help) entitles him to abdicate and let the next sucker try to be a real Emp.

@Pathfinder had the sole goal of setting the bar high enough to make Emp farming difficult and continue to move the bar up. If you want our help then you know who we are and how to contact us, we are willing to let the matter drop and help you if your group stops Emps farming.

So dropping from the server, after you inevitably lose emp, to give someone else a chance to get emp is cheap? Seems pretty gracious to me.

They want us to flip the keeps so they can take them back, therefor they rarely defend them. We can't help it if they do an extremely lame job at defending their keeps, all we can do is hold out against them as long as we are able, and that we do. Being able to hold out against 2 factions teaming against you, outnumbering you 3 to 1, for 4, 5, 6, 7.. hours. That to me doesn't sound like emp farming, it sounds like some good pvp. Can you really blame us for trying to give our friends/guildies a chance to get emp in the process?

Oh and news flash, some people need to sleep. When you have 1 guild trying to defend emp by themselves, the enemy will get it as soon as they succumb to real life needs. As much as we would love to hold them off for weeks at a time, some of us have jobs, wives, lives...

The bugged quest you speak of is not how people get 80k AP a night. You get 80k AP a night by defending keeps for 7 hours. That quest is a minor AP supplement at the most, helps you afford repairs, when there isn't much resistance.

The only time people stick to capping resources, is when we don't have enough people to take an actual keep. 4-5 people is hardly enough to take a keep, even if it's undefended.

If I boil your complaint down it seems like you're upset that there are people who: can get ap faster than you, prefer not to team with you, crown emps, can't play 24/7 to defend them, and are gracious enough to give other people a chance to get emp?

Good job.. show them losers what it is about... and hopefully they will remove all ex emperors passives soon, once or if that move is ever cleverly done.. then people can trade emperor for all the like they want to for in my opinion.

OMG someone is countering something instead of coming here and just asking for a nerf. I hate Emp lines period and they are cheap and cause more issues then they are worth.

Thanks for sharing, thanks for blocking. I was one of the first European emperors and was quite shocked when I heard about that Emperor farming first (Celarus). Anyway, thanks for sharing and making ZOS notice.

Don't ever give up to the farmers. Scrubs think the 2 percent buff is going to all of the sudden make them good in pvp. I took a lot of crap in my camp when I refused to abdicate as well. All the nonsense talk about giving up the throne to better your alliance. Utter nonsense. You are either good or not. Congrats on getting the throne. There are many former emperors that still honor what you have accomplished.

AD and EP just hanging out while farming Emperor at a industrial rate. This is ruining the spirit of pvp. Its one thing to work with an enemy to take out another, but this is just ridiculous.

Don't like emp farming, do what this guy did, get your guild out and try to stop it. You even have a great shot at mucking things up for a while. It wont work forever, of course. Sooner or later (as happened on Vol) you're going to lose your crown, but at least you have given it a shot.
Coming to the boards and bitching does nothing. There is nothing against the Code of Conduct going on. If you don't think alliances are made and broken in real war, just read up a little about WWI.
