DC taking scroll. gates are closed NA- Wabajack

so some how DC is taking scrolls and by passing closed gates. No idea how but they took AD scroll then took an EP scroll. luckily EP was strong enough to chase them down and get it back. Could care less about them taking scrolls as that is part of the game, but how the *** are they getting around closed gates that never opened?

DC just ported into our North Morrowind Gate and took the scroll of Chim again. But what do you expect when Zenimax says it's not an exploit? I guess we are supposed to sit around at our scroll temple all day now, or stand around the wayshrine. What a farce.

how they discover your wayshrine? i assume that is what happening for them to port there

There's a terrain exploit that allows players from all 3 factions to enter the others spawn/starter zones in Cyrodiil and discover the wayshrines there and can then travel there at will.
This is supposedly getting patched tomorrow, so we only have to endure the exploiters for a bit longer.

They climbed the cliff into our starter area last night, put up a forward camp, and camped the North Morrowind wayshrine for hours last night. They then strolled over and took the Scroll of Chim. But the worse part is Zenimax posting today saying it's not an exploit. So guess what? We get the scroll back, and they immediately steal it again.

ahh well i dont think it really matters with campaigns ending here soon honestly. Yea its annoying but not going to effect the out comes of campaigns.

They have a buddy DK on EP that pulls them all up onto the gate wall. It's being abused by quite a few folks on multiple factions.

Most notable use of this exploit before these recent scroll endeavors was the use of capturing keeps without taking walls down. It's how they were trading emperor with all the center keeps being exchanged back in forth in <60m on low populated campaigns.

I've yet to see any ZoS statement of intended actions against any of these folks and this lack of acknowledgement or action against it has only emboldened those abusing it. :wtf:

edit* this is just one means of getting past the gate.. there's terrain exploits also that allow you to go places you otherwise couldn't.

Well, I guess PvP tonight is going to consist entirely of guarding our Scroll Temples and fending off exploiters in our home zones.

First of all we were already inside when the gates closed on us, SO dont automatically think we hacked it, we took the keeps, opened the gates, went inside and waited long time.

People are already posting videos and screenshots of how they used terrain bugs to bypass the Gates when closed and enter our spawn/starter zones. ZOS has even admitted it's happening and working on a hotfix due tomorrow.

You might not be doing it, you might be waiting for a long time, but most people are using the terrain exploit to bypass closed gates, discover the enemy wayshrines and port there at will.

My point is this, and I do understand your frustration in thinking exploit, but what happened a hour ago, our 3 raids worked hard and earned that last scroll the legit way. we opened the keeps and gates properly, got inside, went dark and seen you all run past us, re took your keeps and closed gate, and we pounced. was well planed.

It's really easy to bypass walls if the walls are never there to begin with. I tried it today to see if they've fixed it and what do you know, that bug is still there. I wonder what good is reporting bugs/exploits ingame/forums if they rarely ever get fixed.

Scroll capping with closed Gates might be that, but the DC entering our spawn/starter zones and spawn camping us there is definitely an exploit, but as I said, ZOS aknowledged it and is working on a hotfix due tomorrow.

And if they can spawn at our spawn/starter zones, they can easily cap the Scrolls without opening the gates. It happened this morning, unless they waited 5-6 hours before capping.

Ah yeah, that event I feel was wrong also, I dont think its bannable, it just needs to be fixed, people seem to forget this was done to dc several months ago also. and also, other faction Wayshrines should not be discoverable, and the npcs there near wayshrines and safe zones should be insane damage kills.

While that may be true of the AD scroll, it is NOT what happened to the EP scroll. You never opened the gate to steal it last night, and you never opened the gate to steal it this afternoon. In both instances, it was taken by DC who used our wayshrine to port into our starter zone. And no matter what Zenimax may say, this is very clearly exploiting.

Oh, and I just wanted to add one more thing. Despite AD being able to do to us exactly what DC is doing, I have yet to see one single AD player in the EP starter area on Wabbajack. So kudos to them.

Damn had i known this sooner i wouldve joined the wayshrine campin' and pvpin' in the starter zones. Not the scroll stealin' tho, thats unsportsmanlike behaviour

The really funny part is these guys are so much better at exploiting than they are at pvp. The one exploit scroll run I helped shut down (before my fps dropped to unplayable) ended with the DC group of like 20 being slaughtered without any EP casualties by less than half that number. I bet most of these people wouldn't even be doing pvp if there wasn't a way to cheat...

Just so you all know, any nightblade can bypass the closed gates. Ambush onto one of the gate mages, invis, drop off otherside and voila.
The are places on the gate walls low enough to ambush up to. Is this an exploit? no idea but it is possibly the way they got in.

ONCE Again people say BAN BAN BAN, quit crying and just play. FOR some reason where are all the post when EP did it to DC?. And this just didnt happen on Wabba, its been done on several camps. by ALL Factions. QUIT everybodys crying and concentrate on the big issues LIKE a unplayable pvp for 80% of the population, and even with todays maintenance there is no mention of fixing it. People are Fast to say exploit unless they are the ones that are doing it.

You do realize that everyone complaining about the exploit not being addressed and the exploiters not being punished- they're not on the same faction or campaign.

We have AD,DC and EP upset with this issue. It's happening on numerous campaigns. It's not a faction issue; it's a selective EULA enforcement by ZoS issue.

BECAUSE ZoS does not care, the bots are still ingame flying through the air, doing quests, the storage space and costs of items are still expensive, PVE mobs are doing insane damage, quests are broken, skills are broken, FPS is broken, ect ect. Its been poor action one after another by ZoS.

They absolutely do care. It is that concern that is pumping out so many patches. We can't say that they don't care just because they can't fulfill our demands for instant gratification. It is frustrating, but it takes time to make these things right.

Nor did i claim it just happens on wabba. I haven't seen EP do it to DC. does that mean it doesn't happen? no, i just haven't seen it so how would i know? I was playing wabba when it happened and came here to ask how and bring it to attention of any ZOS who may read it. Sorry for giving useful information like what server and campaign i was in when this occured. how dare I right? I

I am sorry but are you serious? unplayable pvp is due to low fps which they are looking into. If you noticed you don't receive a 2-5 second freeze when game is trying to catch up. Now you get super low fps.

Yes people are calling exploit because you should not be allowed to use enemy faction wayshrines. Sure, say its devs logic fault but an exploit is using a game mechanic in an unintended way. Which spawning into enemy safe areas is unintended and therefore an exploit. Getting over closed gates is unintended and therefore an exploit. They designed it to where you have to take the keeps to open the gates and go through. Sure you could place a forward camp and have people spawn behind the gate and wait it out. but going over a closed gate is unintended.

You can't use the enemy shrines. I've seen it done by being double chain pulled over the zone that teleports you out. Hope this gets fixed soon.
