Cyrodiil Concerns

So I gotta say, last night was the first time since beta where the PvP was simply not fun. I'm uncertain if this was primarily caused by the Wabbalag or what, but here's a couple points of concern and thoughts (please discuss):

1. It seems before if someone engaged you and stunned you, you could stun-breaker free and get the fight going. This worked fine as the person who was jumped begins the actual fight with half their stam gone giving the aggressor a benefit but still resulting in a fun engagement for both parties. Now however it seems certain abilities cannot be stun-breakered out of resulting in a 'fight' where the engager stun locks the recipient to near death before the recipient can respond. Again, I'm not sure if this is due to bugs/lag, but if intended, this is destroying the fun and competitive nature of pvp engagements practically handing the aggressor the match. To note, I'm not talking about being unable to stun breaker after being dismounted, which is as it should be.

2. I also noticed that in many engagements people were straight up disappearing. It was like I could engage them, or they could engage me at times, and the target could just crouch and attain "hidden" in plain daylight seemingly just a few feet away. It seems that whether you are the engager or the defender once the fight begins neither party should be able to go "hidden" without using abilities. Just being able to crouch hide once you're in the heat of battle is nonsensical. Again, this could be a result of lag and people being further from my location than they appeared, but regardless a heat of battle mechanic should disallow characters to go stealth who have been recently engaged (or those committing the engagement) for a set amount of time. This of course doesn't apply to character abilities allowing them to temporarily stealth in battle, just crouch stealthing.

3. Finally, now that I'm V12 and have my gear set almost done I'm concerned about being able to stay passionately involved in PvP. Don't get me wrong, I love the fighting and general mechanics, but where's the reward? What's the ultimate goal? As a guy with kids and a 40 hour work week striving for emperor is out the question, so what else is there? We need bigger and better reward systems, preferably ones that involve community investment, such as a place guilds and players can pool their resources to unlock benefits for their faction. Or systems that deposit "tax revenue" to faction members' bank accounts based on the number of keeps/holdings your faction controls for example. My point is that the fighting is fun, there just needs to be more of an incentive to capture and hold keeps. Gold, rares, anything that makes the pvp more rewarding.

    Oh almost forgot...

tldr; Fix bugs, lag, keep combat free of straight stun-locking deaths, and give us more rewards for pvp (both personal and community)

Agree with all points, also going to add:

Add: "looking for guild/group" tool specifically for pvp, custom chat channel creation, campaign preview options.

just use the worst mech. in the game > hold block forever.

Haha yeah, that reminds me... heavy attacks should go through/disrupt blocking forcing someone to dodge heavy attacks to mitigate the damage. This would fix the infinite blocking problem.

Actually, I have noticed that if you used a heavy attack against a blocking npc mob, you get thrown off-balance like what would have happened if you blocked a npc heavy attack.

Has anyone noticed if that's the case if a player blocks your heavy attack in a pvp situation?

it's not the case and it shouldn't be. this would make blocking absolutely terrible in pvp. while in a 1vs1 situation you may see everything that is going on but as soon as more people get thrown into the mix you won't be able to realize everything that is going on and being thrown off balance all the time wouldn't be a fun experiance and make tanking in pvp pretty terrible.

    to the OP:
    1. it's apparently a glitch with the 1h+shield charge stun that makes it unbreakable (apparently existed at some point in beta, got fixed and then reintroduced with craglorn, who knows why ... )
    2. that is probably an issue with a fix they implemented where you can now go into stealth right after you kill somebody. while testing some mechanics we realized how fast you could get back into stealth if you didn't deal any damage to other players but just got dealt damage, you can basically stealth immediately after that. on the other hand a players who deals damage and not kill the enemy stays in combat forever.
    3. not sure what to say about this, you have titles, leaderboards and some sort of reward at the end of a campaign. i wouldn't be calling for anything until i saw the rewards that we'll get in about 2 weeks time.

    1. Good to know this is a glitch. I really hope it gets fixed soon, it's very frustrating.

    2. If your testing is accurate, it seems that people taking damage and then immediately going back into stealth is the core issue. If you are spotted and engaged you should not be able to hide in broad daylight unless using an ability specifically designed to make you go invis. This would explain why my targets were going in and out of stealth just a few feet away from me while trying to engage. They could also then put piercing mark on me where they of course can see everywhere I go, but they get to wander around freely. Bottom line, if you are engaged and receive damage you should have the same in-combat anti-stealth timer that an attacker receives.

    3. Well from the experience in BETA and from the reports of players from Scourge who got their campaign prematurely shut down, the end of campaign reward is merely a not-so-impressive chunk of gold. It would be a good move to increase this reward drastically if this is the case. Either way, you still need daily incentive to work towards rather than a single end goal that's 30, 60, 90 days away. More reward systems in place would go a long way to make the PvP not just fun, but also rewarding.
