People Impersonating In-Game Support

We've seen reports that some of our players have been contacted in-game and asked suspicious account-related questions by people claiming to be official ZeniMax Online Studios in-game support employees. We have a few tips below to help keep you and your account safe while playing The Elder Scrolls Online.

You should never log in with your details for The Elder Scrolls Online on any website other than https://account.elderscrollsonline.com, which can also be reached at http://www.elderscrollsonline.com/. Nobody from the ESO support team will ever send you to any other website to maintain your account.

ESO customer support will never approach you in-game in chat or by in-game mail to ask you to make changes to your account. In addition, customer support will never ask you to log into your account on any website but www.elderscrollsonline.com. We will never ask for an ESO password (or any other password) under any circumstances. If anyone does any of these things, please do not follow any links or give them any information, and report this to us immediately.

You should never share your account or password with anyone else, because you are ultimately responsible for all actions taken on the account; sharing account information is a violation of the ESO Terms of Service. Some people might ask you for your password to access your account so they can level up their characters quickly, but once they have your login details, they can change the password and steal your account.

You can send us a message immediately either by typing /help while playing or by going to https://help.elderscrollsonline.com.

You should contact us via the /help portal if any of the following situations occur:
  • You are approached by someone saying they're an ESO, Bethesda, or Zenimax employee or a GM who you think might be fake
  • You discover a website that is a fake version of the login page at https://account.elderscrollsonline.com
  • You notice someone asking for passwords or personal information while playing The Elder Scrolls Online
  • You see any other suspicious behavior in the game

If you have any more questions about account security or if you want to pass on any more information about suspicious behavior, please let us know and we'll do our best to help.

Thank you.
