BE Is Fine As Is

In every PVP match:

-DKs spam GDB

-NBs spam stealth

-Templars spam heals

The worst BE can do is cause your quarry to escape you. However, you could argue the same for the other classes who can use their skills to sneak away, or tank the attacker to no resources, or slowly walk to the safety of nunbers/npcs.

Most sorcs use BE as an active combat ability to keep us in the fight. Gap closers are plentiful/cheap in this game. In a combat situation BE Is balanced. Let's face it, if I use BE the other class will instantly uses his/her gap closer. They can spam gap closers so why can't we spam BE in a fight? If you want too nerf people, nerf the ones using to completely escape a fight, not those who use it in the fight.

A timer penalizes both and is a cheap cop out to your No CDs promise. Perhaps make bolt cost more if there is no enemies within 28m.

Who says you can't spam BE? You can spam it the same way a NB can spam stealth: 4-5 times, then you're out of magicka.

You only can't spam it 12 times any more.

Stealth stops all targeting for its duration. There is no instant way to cancel out stealth (at least ideally there should not be). However, bolting 15m is nothing to the gap closers and in fact makes many skills hi harder. They are not equivalent. I do not get the damage/crit bonuses after stealthing, nor do I remove debuffs... Apples do not cost the same as oranges.

Sorc Flame much. Now you need to think about when to use your BE, rather than just spamming it nonstop. Same goes for NB's Stealth. We have to think about when to use it, because it sucks Magicka like no tomorrow.

Another point I want to make:

Most people's problem is NOT BE, it's the ability to block WHILE any class instacasts. No skilled player would have issues with BE if the sorc could be interrupted, stunned, and pulverized from behind while they tried to bolt away.

Again, we have people crying NERF despite them missing why the skill is so powerful. It's NOT Be, it's BE while blocking.

Also I am not asking for nerfs to stealth, in fact it should be buffed to an extent.

"NBs spam stealth" what I am about to ask has nothing to do with BE, and I ask you not bring BE into it, what do you mean by "NBs spam stealth"? the only "stealth" NB ability I use is shadow cloak, and it eats magicka and only lasts 2 and a half seconds, and is easily interrupted.

I used to absolutely hate BE, now I just get annoyed by it. The problem is its spammed WAY to much. its used to pretty much escape every single fight a sorc is about to lose. Iv seen people use the CCs that are supposed to stop it, and these CCs, a lot of times, don't work. Im glad something is being done about it.

The reward for PvP is AP.

Cowards running isn't a problem, because they die, and give us AP... unless they are a Sorc.

Escape was a terrible design choice. It should be deleted and replaced with an attacking ability (even if that ability is the same... except the bolt must hit a player, i.e. you cannot use it to run across the countryside, unless you land on a player each time).

Bolt Attack. There I fixed it for you.

Besides running does not reward the sorc with AP either so there is no incentive to spam bolt in that sense.

5 x 2.5 = 12.5 seconds of not being attacked and/or the ability to run. Know how far I could get with that time and my traited speed boost? That's not even mentioning the damage boost and utilities that come with it.

But why would you want to leave out BE in a discussion about BE?

Again please read my comment about BE and block. Your issue is not with BE, but rather blocking while being able bolt.

Survival tactics do not behove the other 3 classes. Therefore until the sorc is completely useless, having useful abilities is not good enough.

p.s. Bolt is best used as an offensive ability, not an escape. It is nice however to use it to kite the dks/nbs/temps back into your waiting group

But there is no way to use it for damage and cc as offensive role as the vast majority of us use it. It's simple, don't nerf those using it offensively because a few use it to escape. Just the same I do not ask for nerfs against the class skills listed in the OP because a minority abuse them as an escape.

that has something to do with a sorc losing every fight .sorc cant stand toe to toe with anyone the only slim chance they have is stay at distance

I just block/reflect Sorc damage... but the Sorc that blinks in and stuns me, that Sorc is going to kill me shortly.

NB stealth is broken half the time due to server lag or who knows what.. many times you will hit shadow with the result being your character wave his arms only to not hide with full cost of skill used. lets not forget STEALTH DETECT POTIONS counter this 100% if it even works in the 1st place.. Sorcs that defend BE as being fair are bad players that move class to class jumping on the FOTM band wagon.. most of them I am sure have a DK covered in dust...

Because all sorcs in this game are glass cannons. Also your forgeting the crap mechanic that is hold BLOCK and become a tank.

There is a very easy counter to cloak (I will leave it to you to find out what) As it is bolt is completely OP and not just for escaping. Trying to attack a sorc who's bolting back and forth across you non stop stunning you ever other bolt is near imposable and the whole time there also casting every insta the have on you. In the unlikely chance you actually get the upper hand they just bolt on out of clip range apparently never even stressing there mana pool.

yes but its EASY to interrupt. half the time it takes 4 button presses to even work, and if I hit you with an attack that does damage over time(save poison arrow) it stops. also, if I were to shoot an arrow(not saying all NBs are archers, lets clear that up now, that's just how I play a NB) and then use cloak, it would sotp, because the arrow would hit you, and attacks cancel the cloak. its nowhere NEAR as effective as BE in escaping from battle.

I have no problem with a sorc using it to escape, its when it happens 95% of the time is when I start to lose patience. Sorcs are challenging opponents, and when almost every time I fight one, and actually manage to get them to low health, only for them to spam Be 95% of the time, its very annoying. And I don't have any CCs or knockdowns I know of(not that they even work, iv seen BE used by sorcs hit by ccs). all I really want is it made to where it cant be spammed like crazy. I don't want it took out, that's nonsense. I just want it to be more of a tactical ability, rather than a get out of jail free card.

I have read your comment, if the change has to be made where they cant cast spells while they block, fine. If it stops the constant spamming of BE, cool. I just want to face a sorc and know that they wont just teleport away everytime. I don't mind the strategy, its when its spammed like crazy(like it is now) that I don't like

yes but its EASY to interrupt. half the time it takes 4 button presses to even work, and if I hit you with an attack that does damage over time(save poison arrow) it stops. also, if I were to shoot an arrow(not saying all NBs are archers, lets clear that up now, that's just how I play a NB) and then use cloak, it would sotp, because the arrow would hit you, and attacks cancel the cloak. its nowhere NEAR as effective as BE in escaping from battle.

You left out the counters that void invisibility (Magelight and Detection potions), being unable to sprint while invisible (cancels invisible so running isn't an option), as well as taking hits from AoE skills even without being targeted.
