Planing on making a DK (Asking for advice)

I've been wanting to make one but I'm not sure which weapon and armour (other than Destro Staff and Cloth) would synergize well with them.

All Weapons/Armors "synergize" well. Its really you play style that matters more and the concept you wanna go with. Medium Armor will assist you in increasing your damage slightly where as Heavy Armor will increase your survival rate.

I find as a Templar I really enjoy the play style of 2 hander + Heavy Armor.
