Resto staff dps in cyrodiil

I feel like I should point this out, the imbalance of the damage in resto staff isn't just an issue in dps disparity for pve'ers, it also largely affects gameplay in cyrodiil.

The fact that someone who has strong enough class abilities that they dont need a proper damaging weapon can just pick up a resto staff and can do MORE damage than anyone who uses a different weapon as well as having access to some of the strongest heals in the game is just straight gamebreaking for me.

I'm someone who refuses to pick up a line of play simply because it happens to be in the limelight, and I must say facing a skilled player with a resto staff makes it absolutely clear that this combination of superior damage and survivability doesn't belong in a pvp environment. If things go on this way eventually everyone will be running around in light armor and resto+destro staves healing themselves and spamming flames until one or the other person dies of exhaustion.

I know this is a well known issue but I suppose in my own frustrations I wanted to bring the subject to light in a context it normally isn't heard in: PVP.

Thanks for listening, sorry for whining, but until this is resolved I may be hanging up the towel for the ol' nightblade with a bow.

Resto staff weapon damage is garbage. To compensate, you get better passives. Is this really that hard to figure out???

Other weapons get solid "free" damage from heavy and light attacks. Resto staves do not.

One more time in case you missed it, the restoration staff offers strong passives, but due to the passives and utility offered it does much less damage than other weapons.

This "free" damage from heavy and light attacks you speak of. Have you tested the difference? I have. A vr10 white resto staff light attacks for 154 for me, a vr10 white bow light attacks for around 170.

My vr12 PURPLE 2h sword was doin 145 damage. 10 damage less than an item two 3 quality levels and 2 veteran ranks LOWER than it. Heavy attacks yielded similar results, bow heavy attacks were 350 resto staff heavy attacks amounted to just under

So, if you're telling me that 10% damage increase on all abilities and the mana return from heavy attacks makes up for LESS than about 15 light attack damage and 50 heavy attack damage (which is rarely used), then I'd have to tell you you're crazy. Especially when that light attack bonus ONLY counts for bows (and apparently DW which i didnt test for lack of leveling in the tree) in which the bonus is minor compared to the 10% damage increase on abilities.

Sorry, good sir, but I'm forced to believe your argument is invalid.

EDIT: edited to correct a typo and for clarification

Missing the point. The 10% damage increase makes it the ideal weapon for a NB out of stealth. My Funnel Health, Cripple, Surprise Attack, and Ambush all do 10% MORE damage with the resto staff equiped. We arent looking at the weapon skills per se, just what the passive bring to our class abilities.
