    There are add-ons for that.

Which is no way meant to say that the feature shouldn't be in the vanilla game or that they had any business releasing it without such a feature. But at least you can get around it.

    There are add-ons for that.

The add-ons are a hack. Have you seen how you search in those? It first has to download all of your guilds' databases, one page at a time, 100 items per page, 5 secs cooldown between searches. It's laughable. I've said before and I'll say it again - the devs are using addons as an excuse not to do their jobs. The guild stores are simply the most shocking example of an inept UI and system.

    Hey, I agree 100%. I called it a "workaround" not a solution.

Yeah, I understand your position is similar to mine. I just wanted to be a bit more blunt because this is something that really gets on my nerves.

Lazy cheap method to get out of an auction house was to limit our entire account to 5 total guilds with a hard cap on items and so on and on and on. We all know how it works and as well know it is a mediocre system that is no answer to explain the excuses we have been given for why it exist.

With hundreds or different mats , items , traits and categories, a method needs to be added to search simply by name, i.e. wormwood. Players should not be responsible for writing the addons. A search , esp with the amount of crap people shelve in guild stores, should have been a mandatory addition before release.

Personally when searching normal items and checking sub category for materials, I find I still have 400+ items to sift through of useless crafting tosh before I even get anywhere near finding mats I need to look for.

Anyways, I am sure like everything else that ZOS dropped the ball on, this will be an added feature for 1 of their "content" dumps when they add some other useless pve grind zone for vr13-14.

The add on doesn't work for me. Always causes that "too many search requests" error or whatever. Besides, this is the sort of functionality I would expect ZOS to provide. How hard can it be?

I have to agree with this 100%

Yeah, the addon that I use for this is the only addon that I consider to be essential. Without a search function a guild store is effectively useless. It's pretty bad that the only way to get this most basic functionality is to use an addon that has to be very creative and non-optimal about the way it actually gets a search done.

honestly i`m surprised they were able to add a guild store at all , asking for it to work and be able to search etc so it is useful is stretching it .

They didnt want to. They wanted to eliminate bot farmers and gold spammers. Their strategy was to make it extremely difficult for them to flood the market with anything. I think people are already using Guild Stores far more than ZOS intended, and this enhancement would add to that.

I would rather have a full on AH like in WoW, but its obvious that ZOS guildstore capabilities are by design. Why should everyone have to join 2 guilds of people they never interact with, just to have access to items for sale or to sell?

Yes please! I also would prefer an AH and have my guild(s) be real guilds instead of just a way to find things I want/need in the stores.

Initially I was on the fence about on AH but now I am completely for one. The current set up is terrible and a complete time sink.

if you want a good search function for the guild store use the addon Batman Store Filter by trtt. it filters criteria in the guild store making it a nice and easy experience. works much better imo than the guild store search addon or the default interface in game.

How would not having an AH stop those? Chat channels are full of folks selling... can you imagine the barking if people couldn't use even a Guild Store?

Please. As far as I know there are 2 addons for this, one that is now not supported and out of date, another that adds way too much to my UI.

    Please :'(

You guys are using the add on wrong. Just trust read more about it then go back and try. It can the stores first which takes a while then you search within the add on then click on the item to bring it up in the ingame menu. A little confusing, I was using it wrong for a while as well, having the same issues as you guys.

But ya 1 million percent agree. Store needs a search! I can't sell a thing in the stores because it's impossible to find anything. I'd recommend the batman and robin add ons. It doesn't add a search but adds filters built right into the guild store menu. Makes finding stuff so much easier.

Er, they're more than likely using it right. Their complaint is that in order for the add-on to work, it has to download ALL the trade pages from all of their guilds to build an internal database before they can actually use its search function.

When you're in multiple large trading guilds, that adds up to a godawful number of pages stored.

Regular AH with search or just let us spam a trade channel. This half-baked crud isn't cutting it and it sure isn't cutting the bots.

This. I know that I can make several searches with the add-on, but the initial search takes north of 5 minutes for me (4 large trading guilds, about 6500 items for sale among them).
