Casual vs Hardcore players

First and foremost, this is not to insult either type of player.

The Casual player is the core of all game's, they rarely exploit or abuse a game's content. But, they do tend to have big problems with harder than normal content, and thus complain. ESO has already made the mistake of making some boss mobs way to easy to kill. They have to go to another site to figure out how to make it thru that boss and in all case's to get thru a public dungeon.

Hardcore is exactly the opposite, so the derv's have to figure out how they did it and somehow fix that to, they rarely have trouble with any game content and fly thru the lvl's in amazing time.

Unfortunately, game's seem to cater to the Hardcore and this is were a game start's playing catchup. When this happens its hard to turn it around.

Example, VR level's. Were they needed? Probably. Were they designed well or did it seem like they were thrown together?

Even though the game is amazing and fun.

Question, how long does it take the Hardcore to finish a new console game, before he's won? Not long, right. So here is the problem.

Dev's want everyone to love the game for the longest time possible, which is not very realistic.

I would say fix the major bugs, kill the gold sellers and buyers, forever ban the exploiters and abuser's.

Your casual player will stay for the longest amount of time and bring in fresh players.

The hardcore folks will (win) the game at light speed and move on, they are going to anyway, they are a small percentage of the population and won't effect much of anything when they leave, its normal to all game's.

Umm this game is a subscription game. Hardcore gamers will stick around if there is reason to. Not to mention that Elder Scrolls has strong dedicated followers.

Why say you are not trying to insult either type of gamer, but then throw a whirlwind of bias? You are a casual gamer, that is upset.

The devs are gonna be happy if there's any players left at all soon...

Casual player, yes and proud of it, upset? Not in the least, just stating my opinion, wasn't trying to insult either.

Actually hardcore players are a very important part of every mmo community, they're the ones who champion the game in social media, who run the fansites, who make the guides, builds, videos, trends, and benchmarks. These are the people who do race to endgame a lot of the time as you say, but as a result are often experts of that content at a very early time and become the guides for others, both new hardcore players and casual players in the future.

Ultimately, the game needs both types of players to be healthy and catering to both is perhaps the hardest balancing act of any mmo, far harder even than class balancing or difficulty scaling. Make it too hard or too easy and you alienate one or the other. Personally I think they've done a very good job of juggling the difference and I have been very impressed with the game thus far. I'm sorry you find it's too unbalanced but I hope you find more content in the future to your liking.

I agree with most of this players account and its well stated, but.

I disagree with racers being experts on content, that to me is impossible. They are the one's most likely to have found exploits and will use them, experts not really.

I like the game and agree its very hard to balance for both, I don't find the game too unbalanced. Its the Hardcore that seems to find it unbalanced and complain, complain, complain.
