In the past few weeks we've seen the caltrops exploit fixed. The infinite loading screen is no longer destroying our will and those mercs are now facing extinction. The amount of fun I am having in Cyrodiil is incredible, thanks for all the hard work ZOS.
There are still some somewhat annoying problems though (although, they are not show-stoppers).
Server Lag
Experience in past RvR MMOs has shown me this will always be an on-going effort. It's good to see improvements in the patch notes even though we are still a long way off. I have personally found things perfect when I am not near the zerg and getting stuck in massive zoneblobs only cause a little rubber-banding for me, now. Your approach to this is excellent, keep on keeping us in the loop.
Respawn Camps
Respawn camps stop working (read: can't be respawned at) but still block the placement of camps near to them. They nearly always go into this state (they rarely remain working until depleted) and it seems that the longer they remain standing the better the chances are of them going into this state. I don't know of any specific repro steps for this - we've had camps bug out the very second we place them and have had them work for a few minutes.
The only workaround we know of is to try and lure enemies to the area and hope that they burn the broken camp.
Large Groups
Forming groups that have members in both Cyrodiil and outside of Cyrodiil seems to crash the group members. Groups of less than ~12 members will be met with incredible and perpetual client-side lag (framerates of less than 1FPS), groups of more than ~12 members will crash to the desktop following a few seconds of the lag (save one or two random members). My guild have managed to repro this in PvE in the past (by simply being in separate zones) but haven't attempted it since. We've had a group crashing due to this as recently as Tue 3 June (EU).
In addition everyone in large groups will experience a brief (~1 second) lag spike when a member joins or leaves (even if they are in the same zone). I am not sure if this is related - although it isn't really a problem. Just thought it was worth mentioning.
The workaround is easy: be in a guild and communicate the issue to your members (although we've had recruits/drunk people boot the entire guild from Cyrodiil by mistake). We'd like to invite PUGs to our raids but do so sparingly because of the risk.
Large Groups (Redux)
Groups of more than about 20 members are experiencing lag and disconnects within Cyrodiil (June 9) - even if all members are present in Cyrodiil. This occurs at random intervals and we have no specific repro steps. Additionally some group members will instantly crash other group members (even in groups of less than 4) - I heard from an alliance GL that this can be caused by that group member not having correct port forwarding. I have still to track down the member causing it, but joining their group instantly desyncs the victim (everyone stops moving and the victim will DC in ~2 minutes).
