As soon as I hit VR1 I became extremely bored with the game, who wants to grind level to hit VR12? I was bored so I started to PVP, then with the amounts of LAG from time to time making it impossible. Then Understanding how to PVP as just Zerging from one place to another with groups waiting 15-20 minutes at a time to do battle. I just had it. As of right now im just waiting for the game to be fixed and I might return.

i used to think more like the OP but once i tried out the craglorn grind there wasn't any reason for me to level up doing the vet content when i can zoom to vet12 and get better gear faster. the only reasons you do the vet content now is if you want skyshards, achievements, and lorebooks.

Let me rephrase your statement Metalpunk, to make it more in-tune with the bulk of the complaints on the forums.

"Are the ones who haven't reached VR ranks yet."

Because most of us loved 1-50 as well. The simple fact that we had more time to play then you did doesn't change the rate at which we leveled at all...we just got in more leveling each day then you did.

The bulk of the frustrations on these forums, (if you'd read them) aren't about "nothing to do at level cap". far from it. I'd go into detail, but I've expressed them myself so many times in so many other threads its starting to feel old. just read the comments please, and don't try and make a judgement on a whole group of people who loved the EXACT SAME PART of the game you did...they just happened to get it done sooner. time frames are irrelevant to the issues driving people away.

So, lets see, despite hating the ridiculous decisions of the Staff, I actually like the game because I am a TES fan.

I am V12, have been for days, probably a week or 2, fuzzy on the time. I did read everything, I read every single line on the quest dialogues as well, listening to the random guys walking around and talking, spent time doing nothing but fishing for days.

Sadly though, I am lacking all quests in Craglorn because simply, no one cares about those. Despite Celestial story is... weird at best, where there could be better ones, its still not a bad one, I am curious about it, but being forced to group, kinda kills it all for me because no one lets others to spend time reading quests as well, just trying to finish them as quick as possible.

Problem with this game, as far as I'm aware, is that they wanted to get a piece of the TES line success, and add to its success even more by gathering the MMO crowd. Problem is, those are way too different crowds with very little people in the common area and with every step they take, they are trying to cater to the MMO crowd but ruining the game more and more for the TES crowd, who were actually, anxiously, waiting for a game like this and who actually wants this game to succeed instead of jumping to the next MMO when there is a problem.

Unless they do get their act together, this game is sadly, heading towards a dark path, and the actual thing that bothers me, even more so than the failure of this game (which sadly gets closer), is that it could possibly soil the glory of TES line, which we are all glad, I'm sure, that at least that screw-up would not be pinned on Bethesda, but people might blame them still for letting this game get ruined by people who seem to have no idea about TES.

Every game has those people who try to play a MMO as a single player RPG and enjoy the experience.
Actually, a lot of MMOs have single player elements you can group for. There's a storyline and all associated with them. Except in certain regions, because of the ability to skip, it's harder to cooperate on those elements.

It also doesn't help that ESO breaks it occasionally with quests that are solo only, no option otherwise.
ESO's MMO elements are what let a lot of us down, and the constant nerfcoaster coming from these idiotic devs doesnt help.
Well, their grouping setup was mentioned as a problem in beta... they seem bent on sticking to it.

I took advantage of "fore knowledge", I knew there were issues from beta that went into the release. So I've taken my time, poked along and have let the waves of power levelers and fixes from ZOS roll past me. It's made the game experience so much better for me by doing so.

I have no reason to move along faster than I have. Level 26 DK, started on early access, plus a good number of baby this and that's who are on the bench. I don't expect to be at 50 with that DK any time before my 6 month sub renews itself. I'm in no hurry and agree with the OP, read stuff, look at stuff, take some screen shots.

Oh here we go again. The only proper way to have fun and play the game correctly is to read all the books and smell all the flowers.
Well at least we can see the flowers now; that is definitely a plus. As for reading books in-game it's fun to a point but can get to be tough challenging at times especially when hostiles are near by and re-spawn quickly.

    Good thing I got:

    ...Improved
The ^ Emperor's Guide to Tamriel :D for things I might have missed in-game, but it's not quite as "fun" reading it as it is reading everything in-game. The guide does make for a great conversation piece though and the kids love it.

    Money well spent.

It has nothing, at all, to do with reading the books, journals, notes, smelling the flowers, chasing butterflies, or playing the flute.

The simple truth is that pre-VR and post-VR and 2 different games. The problem will be more based on your level than your style of play. Many, many, people that read all the books, etc. still aren't having fun at VR levels, especially VR5+.

My question is and this always baffles me with any game. If one does not like the game why are you here? In all seriousness I really wanna know. It is never worth my time being active in the forums of a game I do not like.

Also if anyone came into this game thinking that it was gonna be a full on mmo experience of course they are gonna be disappointed. I knew from day one that eso would struggle with its identity or at least struggled with how people perceive it.

I *have* experienced them and they suck enough to me that I cant be assed to bother with something not fun.

Problem is, that means Im locked out of new content until I pick up the ball and leave, or pull up the big boy pants and just deal with the misery.

I wonder what percentage of players at VR5 through VR12 haven't bothered to do Cadwell's quest? That would be an interesting stat to see.

    It's not even just that.

Trash pulls overland that can kill you if you don't overthink it and strategize it like a boss fight, or spam impuse/volcanic rune until you puke isn't fun.

Melee builds that don't involve heavy magicka use not being competitive isn't fun.

Long slogfests for any kind of character progression isn't fun.

Had another guildmate of mine quit the game today. She got into VR1 Glenumbra recently. Coincidence?

I'm becoming more and more disappointed with the game the longer I play it, because eventually I'm going to run out of steam on alts and the current shape of VR content is atrocious.

Problem is, I don't want to go back to wow, and there's no games coming out that appeal to me. Wildstar looks like garbage and everything else is trying to appeal to the old school EQ hardcore crowd. Screw that.

A lot of us came here for ES that can be played with friends. A lot of ES players run with the slider on "I suck"(my friend actually said this). VR content is going to kill off a lot of those and there won't be anything left.

I wallowed in the misery you speak of for nearly 2 weeks after hitting VR1. Barely logged in except to check researches or feed the horse. Run a few quests, go ugh and log out. Come *** on the forums. Took me 3 weeks to get to 50. Caught me at a time when I had lots of play time and I constantly could not wait to see what was next. Took me 2 more to get VR2 because of this.

Last couple of days it's been a lot better tho since I've had what's amounted to a two week break from serious play. I think the first 50 levels are so easy and so easy to inhale if you put the time and effort in that when it does slow down in the VRs it just hits you wrong. You aren't just getting hit with a change in difficulty and the time it takes to advance, but you are also probably a little burned out on questing having just done so much to get there. Then the brain considers consciously or unconsciously that you have twice as much as you just did ahead of you and in the factions that you specifically didn't choose at that and the game gets rather un-fun rather suddenly.

But laying back and taking kind of a break totally recharged my batteries for the veteran levels. Little over halfway thru VR2 just from my last two play sessions. A couple of curb stompings from healers or multiple range npcs in 3 packs aside, it's been really fun. And I say that as a Bow/DW stamina NB. I do admit, the slowness of training points now really sucks. To me, that's worse than the levelling speed.

You may just need a break and come back fresh to have more fun.

    I've been leveling alts.

Every time I log into one of my VR characters I groan, and log back out.

And those two? DK and Sorc.

I am totaly beat! And of course I read everything. Even nosy and look around for things.

I agree 100% with OP. You enjoy this game a hell of a lot more if you listen to the, I would say quest, but thats not totaly correct. Listen to the game.....

Was in Riften today for my first time, did quests and just by talking to NPCs, I got quite a laugh, new map places and stories/comments that either had to do with my personal story in ESO (I heard what you did in Eastmarch), and got added new quests or simply go there and find my brother....or something.
