TLDR: another templar having a whinge

Just to start of with, I think its time we talked about barrier. The abuse of this ability has totally ruined the game for a lot of people. it made fun challenging fights with mechanics to do, into stand there in 1 spot and dps. the rampant abuse of this has caused groups to only take healers with barrier. so now healers MUST pvp to be able to pve... if you dont have barrier you dont get a run. a lot of ppl will quickly try and downplay the abuse of this in the comments because they cant do the fights without it.

my second gripe is with the dps imbalance. there will always be classes that are slightly better than others at one thing or another. but there is at least a 1k gap in dps between some classes.

instead of nerfing dk's and sorcs, PLEASE for the love of god just fix nightblade and templar dps...this is now beyond a joke. if you bring their dps up to sorc/dk standard(see what i did there) you would bring joy and happiness to thousands of players that cant do content. i do agree that nerfing dk/sorcs is not a solution, that is just punishing them for something that is not their fault.

im a templar healer that knows the fights and has appropriate gear and consumables. i now cant find an AA run because i dont ever PVP. now i have nothing to do, so i play other games instead. i have not unsubbed, my hope is that someone will hear my plea. all i can say to the devs is watch the twitch streams of top guilds, look at what they use/abuse and rebalance the game so others can play without leveling an alt.

/gets off soap box and cry's with the other templars nightblades.

p.s is there seriously still a large group dc bug? SERIOUSLY?

I really only just started to dig into my Temp build... started with Sorc. I'm loving the mechanics and switching back and forth with two healing staffs but with different skill slots and staff enchantments. if I didn't read the forums I guess I'd still know the games a little bugged, has some lag issues and the occasional um... where's my mail? ;)

had I never read any posts I'd never had thought the class I was playing was unable to handle itself in a good brawl. in fact, so far, (and I just reset my SPs) the skills and attributes I've chosen seem to be well balanced and helpful both in solo and multi player situations.

I posted the other day about immersion and how some players are dissatisfied that there's no end game content... and threatening to cancel their sub. I have to say now without a doubt, if players bought this game without first LOVING the elder scrolls games and the hundreds of hours of gameplay in oblivion and skyrim and Morrowind... then they were kidding themselves eso was going to be an MMO like wow or FFXI or even to some degree FFXIV.

the HUGE elephant in the room is not mechanics or bugs or no auction house, it's that this game has never been an MMO and I feel Zenimax was either forced into naming it so or somehow misunderstood WHAT an MMO actually is.

I see a lot of posts about over powered and nerfed - I'd like to see a lot more about how bloody beautiful the game is, how the voice acting is great or how perfect the music is EVEN during combat. I'd also like to see less about quit rages because who really cares? if I'm coming to the forums it's to find out about some gameplay related question or help with a quest. when did forums become this me me me, I paid this and I'm going to sue etc...?

I don't get it at all. aren't we all playing a game? it's a game. it's not real life... that's the point of losing ourselves in the world they've made for us. AT&T customer service is another ball of wax! ;) any how I'm saying I love the game and it's not perfect or maybe it is or maybe nothing is... I don't know. peace

In trials, a Sorc with Resto staff is more effective than Temp, due to synergies with class abilities and better magicka pool management.
Temps have also hard time to generate DPS equal to Sorc, DK, or even NB.
I would say, this is the class that needs most attention from devs right.
I have couple alts and my Temp is the weakest character at the moment :-(

Would love a tanky templar, can not be arsed to level a DK i hate their animations, but would like to be a good tank. Sorc doesnt really cut it in that department.
My feeling at the moment was that it doesnt really work out due to ressource problems in the mana department.

Barrier- So you want to nerf barrier because you don't want to go pvp to get it... Sounds about right.. Why are you even playing the game then if you just want stuff handed to you on a platter. Its not even that hard to get. Also, as a healer why would you NOT want a damage shield on your party? If you want to run AA that bad, you can spend some time in PVP to get the skill.. Surprise!! You can heal in there too! Group with guildies or make your own party. PVPers have to PVE to get gear too..

DPS- Yea we could use a little buff.

Good thing a majority of the skills/gear are available to everyone right. You just have to put in the time

@dcincali, don't waste your breath. They always answer the same thing: "It is just not fun for me when it is "stupidly hard" and I am paying customer."
@d0e1ow: There is no singular thing within a game's little ecosystem that will convince you that you hate the game, hate your life, and hate everyone around you faster than the game's official forums will.

@TaffyIX: Life is too short to get upset by a video game.

    @ElSlayer‌ Okay, I'll bite.

To date, PvP is not fun for me as a Nightblade. Now, there's three factors I can attribute that to:
1 - I've only been in Cyrodiil once with other people. The other few times, before I just gave up, I've been alone. And we all know what happens to people running solo. Maybe its the times I can play, maybe something else.

2 - I play a Nightblade and as a stamina/weapon build with 2-hander and bow. In numerous other threads this way of playing has been repeatedly stated as underperforming, and there's the numerous threads about Nightblade abilities being broken. I won't even get into the subject of Magelight.

3 - Honestly, I suck at PvP, there I said it. I ... am ... bad ... at ... PvP. I imagine I'm probably not the only one. So if I'm bad at it and I know it, why would I ever want to go do it?

So, on those notes, mind you this is from a Nightblade's perspective, I can understand why somebody playing a Templar may have issues as well. Especially considering that, supposedly, Templars are in worse shape than Nightblades currently. An ability that can be considered a requirement for a meta-build should never have only one means of access.

Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not asking it to be handed out. But I can't agree with the current implementation of access either.

In WOW my first mount was called a pink elephant even if it did not look pink to me.

Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.
