Do you play w/ honor? Serious question.

Just wanted to know how many of you out there play w/ honor.

Myself, if I see a 1v1 happening, I let them finish. If my alliance member loses, I will then attack the enemy and rez the friendly afterwards, but I will not save him.

And I get a little angry and disappointed when someone (a friendly) jumps in on my 1v1, especially when I'm roughly full on health and they (my enemy) are in execute range.

On Wabbajack, I've noticed that there are a hand full of DC guys that will let the 1v1 finish before attacking me. They are few and far between, but it has happened a on a few occasions. I don't think it has ever happened while fighting AD tho. Ever. They may be out there, but out of my 2000~ solo fights I've not met any.

Also, I will never run from a 1v1. Ever.

Just my thoughts and experiences tho.

What about you? Do you play w/ a sense of honor?

Edit: The circumstance should dictate. If it is in between keeps in regards to defense or offensively sieging, helping is usually a given. My OP is more in the context of places like Bruma, or the other questing areas and solo dunge

It's according to what character I'm on. Each of my characters has a different set of morals, a code, and acts in a different manner. I'm a roleplayer through and through, and that's one of the only reasons I prefer MMO's over all other types of games ... the ability to immerse.

Ruze Aulus? He's a Nightblade. A freelance assassin and hunter. He'll hunt you if it's his goal, but otherwise, he'll let you pass. Laser focused. No qualms about jumping in to help teammates, but only if it doesn't endanger him.

Gral? Berserker. It doesn't matter what the fight is, he's rushing like an idiot into it. Not a lot of thought besides 'ooh, fight'.

Breken? Imperial soldier. May not have a heart of gold, but if the coin is right, he'll follow you. Wants to see the empire restored, but is very pragmatic about it. Like a physical Abnar Tharn.

To'ken? Sword and board redguard heavy armor sorcerer. There is always honor in battle. Won't fight an unarmed opponent. Won't fight an outnumbered opponent. Will always give someone the right of battle.

Normally, my characters are all good guys. So far in ESO, it seems to be the opposite.
Ruze Aulus. Mayor of Dhalmora. Archer, hunter, assassin. Nightblade.
Gral. Mountain Terror. Barbarian, marauder, murderer. Nightblade.
Na'Djin. Knight-Blade. Knight, vanguard, defender. Nightblade.

    XBOX NA
Ruze is a veteran of the PC Beta, lived through the year one drought, survived the buy-to-play conversion, and has stepped foot in the hells known as Craglorn. He mained a nightlbade when nightblades weren't good, and has never worn a robe. He converted from PC during the console betas, and hasn't regretted it a moment since.

He'd rank ESO:TU (in it's current state) a 4.8 out of 5, loving the game almost entirely.

This is an multiplayer game. I should be able to log in, join a dungeon, join a battleground, queue for a dolmen or world boss or delve, teleport in, play for 20 minutes, and not worry about getting kicked, failing to join, having perfect voice coms, or being unable to complete content because someone's lagging behind. Group Finder and matchmaking is broken. Take a note from Destiny and build a system that allows from drop-in/drop-out functionality and quick play.

I never fight with honor, with respect to my opponents, but I think I do with my allies.

I consider myself about as cut throat as I can be to my foes. I will do whatever I can to avoid my own death while getting my metaphorical daggers into as many enemies as I can, regardless of which character I am playing.

That said, I have been known to suicide mission on occasion to try and save allies in over their heads.

    No need for ignorant comments.

Men have been fighting wars with honor since the beginning of time, by the way. Usually ppl that have such negative views on 1v1s aren't very good at them anyway. So feel free to jump in and add some AP for me.

I try to use common sense. If I see someone jump a lower level, or someone who wasn't at full health, I'll join in since it wasn't an honorable 1v1 to begin with. BUT if the handicapped player actually starts to win, I won't rob them of their comeback. If I see something that's clearly a duel, like if the players faced off for a second before charging, or if it was happening in some secluded corner of nowhere that they must've arranged to meet each other at, then I won't join. I won't join in either if it seems to be a good and close 1v1 in general, unless it's taking place near an objective or something where we can't afford to have one of our guys stuck in a duel for a few minutes.

Basically it differs on a case to case basis, but I believe in honor and fairness and try to uphold them when I can.

Mmh, I may let 1vs1 happen if it's some isolated location, maybe a quest hub or a dungeon. In these locations I usually don't even attack enemy players unless they jump me first. But if it's near a battle, on the way to a siege or in any other way relevant to our current, collective war efforts I do everything in my power to help my alliance mates.

I see it this way, If I was in a war and an alli just stood there and watched me battle and I won, I would turn around and finish him off as well.

Since "all is fair in love and war" I'd have to say, yes I do ;-)

But... because there is no guarantee that my opponent(s) will fight with honor too, I will not stand around like a sheep, I will make sure I have all the advantages that I can get on my side. No matter the cost to a romantic concept.

    1. No, i will help. If i see 1 vs 1 with 2 other alliances i will wait so i have to fight only 1 weakened enemy. It's war, not charity.

    2. I don't mind. If someone wants an easy kill and probably wants also credit they can have it. Since i already did damage i will get credit also.

    3. Depends. If i start to loose i will use refreshing path and WOOOSH, stealth and im gone. But i might turn around to backstab.

So no, i don't play with honor. I am a sneaky backstabbing Breton. And darn prowd of it.

Honor? Hmm no not really. If I see my teammate going down, I am going to save them if I can (unless there are 10 bad guys charging in). I am going to deny that enemy getting any AP. I am being honorable by saving them :D

I too am I nightblade, I kill indescriminately from the shadows...I run from 1v1's all the time. I can cloak, so I work better getting the jump on someone.

It is hard to see whether or not a fight is intended as a duel, so when I see a 1v1 fight I do everything in my power to help out the person of my faction. Do I play with honor? According to the OP I perhaps do not, but what honor is there to let a fellow fighter die just for slight chance it is a duel? I would dishonor him if I let him die if it turned out not to be a duel. In fact I would be known as someone to hate instead of someone they can count on.

Btw I have somewhat of a bad taste in my mouth when I use the word "honor" in a pvp situation, especially one where classes are not balanced for dueling to begin with.

Maybe the devs will add a dueling option in some future patch, until then do never expect others to not help. Also definitely do not consider their aid as dishonorable because chances are they do it with the best intentions. Although I admit many might do it for the easy kill.

In real war there is no honor. the most moral thing to do in war is to kill the enemy as best and as fast as you can so they don't want to fight anymore anything else is immoral and evil. If what you are talking about is honor then it is evil and can honor be evil?

What are you talking about? Every soldier who chooses to follow orders instead of running away has honor. Every commander who does his best to save lives has honor. There are many moments in war where men choose to be honorable, and some of them are awarded Medals of Honor by the president (in the US).
