The Xbox Live™ service interruption has been resolved. Thank you for your patience.

Thank you, Zenimax.

Thaelgram_Westar
As the title states, thank you.

Thank you for the hard work and dedication you've put to making the ES series into an online gaming community, to actually make the ES series more than just a single player role-playing game.

You're going to have your good and bad with every aspect of creating a work of art. You're going to have those who criticize, and those who applaud.

I, for one, am applauding.

The game is beautiful, awe-inspiring, rich and full of lore, literature, and depth.

People come on here and they rant and complain because they don't understand that with a fresh new start in the business of online gaming, you're going to have your hiccups at first. They don't understand that it takes time to get the game where it needs to be. They lack vision. They lack the ability to understand and comprehend that not everything happens over night. They have no patience.

Every MMO will have bugs, especially at launch.
Every MMO will have bots.
Every MMO will have people who don't care about what it takes to get the job done, and they'll expect immediate results. They have no patience.

As long as you communicate with us, clearly, and inform us about changes that are being made, and you respond to positive feedback or criticism, most people will be understanding.

People too often compare this game to World of Warcraft, a game that has had 10+ years of post-release development experience, such as patching/bug fixing, pushing new content, balance tweaks, and the list goes on and on. They are comparing that, to a new MMO developer. This game has less than 2% of post-release development that Blizzard does with that franchise, and people don't understand that they're comparing apples to oranges.

You can't plant a redwood seed and expect it to be over 100 feet tall the next morning.

So again, I just want to say thank you for your hard-work, commitment, and dedication to a project as vast as this one, and I know this game will be great.
War must be, while we defend our lives against a destroyer who would devour all; but I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend.

Despite my "whining" today at "ninja mod thread lockers" and "healing staff nerfs" (which later seemed to actually be a good thing for Templars) I really enjoy the game as well and give credit to Zenimax.

NO, they aren't perfect, YES they could improve in areas.... But it is an awesome game!

How come all the "I'm quitting because of these reasons" threads get locked, but all of these non-constructive "I'm a fanboi, I'm only level 30, I love this game, Every game has bugs" threads don't get locked?

because people who like the game aren't always fan boys and people who feel the need to announce to the world they are quitting are drama queens who think they are more important than they really are.

I make negative posts all the time that are constructive and they don't get locked, usually people that make i'm quitting or "negative feedback" posts have no idea how to be respectful. Much like many of the posts on this thread indicate.

Because Zenimax is not perfect (though one of my favorite game studios because of the elder scroll series)... They don't understand yet, as noobs in the MMO world, that the minute the game went live it stopped being their little baby.

The game belongs to the players now and depending how fast the corporation digests that truth will determine whether or not this game will reach the ranks of WoW in terms of longevity and success or whether it will go F2P and peter out.

Locking customer's threads who paid $100+ bucks, while within their legal rights, is disrespectful and hurts the company and community...

But, on the other hand... these forums are so damn negative. I think we need posts like this from time to time IMO.

    Thank you Zenimax, for
    • having no clue on how to balance classes, abilities, or passives.
    • artificially extending the game's levels by recycling content.
    • not addressing game breaking abilities in a timely manner.
    • creating a quest grind that is extremely boring in Vet Content.
    • system damaging memory leaks.
    • client-side trust.
    • 301 errors.
But mostly, thank you Zenimax for saving me $15 this month. You really did make the choice for me, so again, thanks.

Congrats on pulling the wool over so many peoples eyes though. I mean sure, most of those people are still sitting in 1-50 content wondering what the hell everyone is complaining about, but congrats nonetheless. Just hope you fix the problems that are driving so many away before they encounter them.

To be on topic, I never once stated I'm a fanboy. I like several game franchises. If they do wrong, I let them know, just like with any other game company, but this company has been getting more hate than praise lately.

A little intelligent moderation would go a long way here. No one wants to read a bunch of "I'm quitting, this game sucks" posts. But a lot of the ones I have seen locked were well thought out, insightful posts containing a list of the biggest issues that person had with the game. It was legitimate constructive feedback.

I can understand a policy against non-constructive posts, but simply removing any posts where the OP says that they have quit seems to be a bit...unfair.

Your love of Zenimax for TES is misplaced. Bethesda Softworks is responsible for your beloved single player TES titles. They licensed the intellectual property to Zenimax to develop this game. And if it keeps going at the rate it is going, that choice may actually jeopardize your chances of ever playing TES 6. So don't thank Zenimax for your enjoyment of Skyrim, Oblivion, Morrowind, etc.
Life of a Nightblade (Screenshot Tumblr)

Attention Zenimax: Stamina builds don't hold up to magicka builds, and this is causing most of your class imbalance. It makes melee weapons and bows weaker than staves and class abilities. It makes medium and heavy armor less desirable than light armor. Fix this imbalance, and you'll address most of your balance issues.

I agree but then again i have an open mind, i one of those who loved the mass effect 3 ending. The way i look it at it is let the ones go who want to go. Notice the tanriel is a much better place these past couple weeks? I do.

I do not see how a true TES fan can say ZOS didnt hit it right on the nose when it comes to writing. Very well done. I can spend 5 hours in just one town reading books and talking to people. Love it.

Thank you for making the game un-fun at end game so it was easy to move on to other games. I did enjoy the quests, and the Craglorn group quests were the best so far and kept you on your toes, but as there is no one grouping in Craglorn anymore, its time to move on (V1-V11 are exp grinding, V12 are trials, no questing)

When I refer to games like mass effect 2 or mass effect 3, I don't refer to Bioware, I refer to EA.

I'm not trying to come across aggressive, but the "lesson" in the corporate structure at Zenimax is unnecessary and irrelevant.

The publisher is who pushes out the game though, not the developer. Most developers don't have time to finish the game before the publisher pushes it out, and I never refer to the game's development team as their publisher... cause that confuses me, haha.

True... but I don't really care to see the redwood sapling, either.

I understand your points about bugs and issues at launch. However, I have been in a good number of MMO launches... and, I can say, with the exception of actually being able to log in (which this game got mostly right), this is by a LARGE MARGIN the buggiest, sloppiest release I have seen. Skill line abilities and passives just not working is absurd, period.

Well, if we are speaking frankly....

You lack the understanding to know there are serious problems besides the normal new MMO bugs.

You lack the comprehension to see there are flawed systems within the game.

You lack the vision to see how good this game could have been and might be, if you stop fighting people who are trying to improve the game.

You rant and complain because you don't understand players here are trying to fix the game.

You have no patience to read others threads with an open mind so you insult them like the quote above.

If you came here to say you like the game, great, just don't insult us in the process.

    Thank you.
