Quick Slots

I wanted to get some more recent feedback on Quick Slots:

As a NEW player:

I keep hitting "Q" during game play when I mean to hit "W". *ashamed*

*POP* ... potion wasted. I am trying. I really am .. keeps happening.

I will continue to search for a better solution (addon?)

Not sure about PvP but in PvE I've never used quick slots all the way to V1. Never had to. Doshita, Mannicrapo, Balls all fell easily without the need.

Then, I think I may just have to craft better gear and use the proper combo of enchants.

If you're having trouble by accidentally hitting it you can always keybind it to another key. I must admit I use to hit it quite a bit too in the beginning (after all Q and E use to be your straft buttons in most MMOs). But like anything, with time you get use to change.

The Quickslot becomes very necessary in the end-game for both trials and pvp. In pvp you will most likely want to invest in some unstoppable pots if you're not a DK and for the trials you'll need some spell crit pots to maximize dps. Also in pvp a lot of the siege and repair kits and such are used from the quickslot.

I'm not hitting Q accidently at all.
Now hitting R when I'm collecting stuff and wasting my ultimate, that's a different story.

Quick slots *** suck in ESO.
What the hell is quick about holding the key, moving to select, releasing then pressing the key again?
Maybe I have a different definition of the adjective to ZOS...
Maybe ZOS is using the noun referring to a slot for a single shrub or plant in such a hedge...

At least allow us to put them on keys 1-8 with instant use... not everyone requires those keys for abilities, in a time when the average gaming mouse has 10 buttons it's not like we are short on places to put abilities... Short sighed is what this situation is...

You do realise that if you press Q quickly it uses the potion previously selected, don't you??

Yup, poor use of keys by Derv's, but no biggie, you can change them to anything you want, just don't but them all in one key.

Bottom line is, what ever Dev came up with the quick slots malfunction must have never played games on a PC before. It is by far one of the worst concepts in TESO. Allowing console kiddies to program for the PC just does not make sense.

While I agree that using console mechanics for a PC game is a bad idea, you might want to rephrase that a bit. Using a phrase like console kiddies doesn't reflect well on the person speaking (or typing in this case).

It is really a dumb idea... nothing 'quick' about these quick keys... it is like others stated, the most stupid concept of the game. So many times i have died trying to press Q, change from my current pot shown, to a health potion, and then press Q again to take that health potion... in most scenarios, you need to take it immediately to save your arse... and that takes much more time than immediately...

Yea, my fix is I changed/re-memmed my hotkey for it and for lower levels I just put in Health pots, all the way around the quick slots.

I still have to fiddle with something again in order to have access to some +dps/crit etc and/or stam pots for my higher level characters where the pots are actually user-friendly when I need them o-0.

So .. will rebind after maintenance.

LOL I used to do the same thing OP, accidentally hitting q instead of w. You do have some options, one is rebinding the key, another is using an addon, Greyminds quickslot bar is one I use. It allows you to keybind different pots in your quickslot wheel.

I'm doing okay now. Rebound "Q" to ALT and "R" to "U" ...

BUT ... multiple potions on a "sliding clock-wheel mechanism?" I don't get it. Too new for me, I guess.

PS Also took the dang WINDOWS button off the keyboard on the left hand side!
