Exploration Trait on Veteran Gear?

Why do I keep getting Veteran Gear with the Exploration trait on it?
Correct me if I am wrong, but I don't seem to get any Exploration experience for discovering new wayshrines, mundus stones, or areas anymore since I became a veteran. So, why does all this gear that drops in the game have the exploration trait on it if it doesn't do anything?

subecsanur✭✭✭True, another aspect of the game not really thought out well. Unless it should be there and we aren't seeing it (the common UI glitch excuse they like to use).0 -

DDemon✭✭✭✭You do get experience for discovering things as a veteran, but it does not go towards your actual level, but rather the skills and weapons you have active.
That said, you get about 75% less XP than you would get in the non vet areas, so in the end, it's not really worth it still.0 -
Ah, so that is where all the heavy armor exploration is? Not much on heavy gear when you really would need it, that's for sure...0
