Does anyone even buy glyphs? I'm an enchanter and I haven't seen anyone buy a glyph yet and if so what are the prices?

You can get fairly decent glyphs from vendors, about 260 a pop, for the main armor glyphs which aren't that bad.

So basically being and enchanter is pointless?

With exception to strong fire resist glyphs, pretty much I reckon.

Eh, right now I buy basic glyphs from the vendor.

I do have an enchanter char, and the only thing I see would be making them blue or purple ranked ones.

Not sure if they make something special from them.

Runes are so uncommon that enchanters feel they have to charge a price for glyphs that no one would ever pay.

I'd like to buy some for grinding, but there's no way in hell I'd pay what people charge for something I'm just going to destroy (and get paltry XP from, anyway).

It's a simple case of low supply AND low demand creating a weak market.

I make glyphs for my guildmates. I don't normally sell them because we trade unused ones for leveling on. I have seen people in my trading guild selling high level glyphs, but I haven't bought any because I am a slow leveler. But I know people sell them, and in my guild people sometimes make requests for specific glyphs.

Yes, I have. I buy resist fire (vamp) for jewelry and VR level absorb health for my weapons (only fire, frost and shock can be found at vet levels). I made the mistake of buying purple armor glyphs without seeing stats first and found they are way too close to whites to be worth the thousands of gold I spent.

No, what's the point they drop way too often.

Glyphs should either be brought, or made and that should be the only 2 ways to get them ! The drop rate of glyphs makes it almost a complete waste of time for people to level that crafting skill.
Enchanting was by far one of my favourite professions in ES, now I don't even bother !

Enchanting is the best profession so far, people don't buy them because they don't know of higher level glyphs like +410 armor, +450 spell resis, etc, they just look at the up of health and magicka near a blank one you can get at the vendor, but they are not the stats to up with such glyphs

How they hell are you going to make them then? Only the ones that drop and you break down give any XP. You are suggesting they take the hardest prof to level and make it 10x harder than it already is. Think about your suggestion for a second before you post.

I never started buying glyphs until I hit VR as I was changing out gear to fast and I was finding the glyphs I need through drops. Once you hit VR you can't use the lower glyphs and only the basic glyphs seem to drop.

I'm an enchanter, I'm also a member of a great guild and both my enchanter services and other enchanters in the guild are often called upon.

But we don't charge, we do it for enjoyment and being able to help.

So what you're saying is you want it all gift wrapped and dropped into your lap because you are too lazy to go out and farm the raw materials needed? And yes before you QQ any more I think the drop rate of weapons and armor is way too high also and my chosen profession is Blacksmithing. I am frequently looking for enchants in the guild store. Can never find any. in one week of searching I found a couple Rekuta enchants that were just ludicrously expensive.

If enchanters posted more of them I imagine there would be some buyers. I am guessing though that the complete lack of buyers is why they don't even bother posting.

So what do you consider a fair price for glyphs? I am curious myself. For instance, many purple mats seem to be selling 1.5k, gold 2.5k. So a Kuta would obviously put the base at least 2.5k, then you factor in the other two runes a person has to stockpile, and combine, and the suckage that leveling enchanting is. So. . . . 3.5k purple, and 4.5-5k gold at end game?

I am an enchanter and I am having glyphs as my major source of income.
I sell about 10-15 a day; white ones that other enchanters use to level and green/blue ones that other players buy for gear. I save the purpz and above for me and my guild.

I don't even farm for mats; it's all done in my guild stores. I usually take about 5 minutes to browse for underpriced runes before I log off.

What you suggest is just stupid, it has nothing to do with lazyness. Without glyphs to break down there would not be enough raw materials to make enough XP to level the profession.

I got my gold resist fire glyphs for 7K each (VR5). Blues and purples usually go for 4-6K. As pointed out earlier, only the basic glyphs (the same ones you can buy) drop in vet zones, so you shouldn't have a problem selling to vets. Vet vamps need those fire resist glyphs! I have two golds and laugh at pyromancers now :)

That's true... unless of course you don't wish to limit yourself to common/white glyphs, or the limited types that drop.

There are several types of glyphs that can only be acquired through crafting. And unless I've been incredibly unlucky, you never see green/blue/purp/gold glyphs drop.

Being a Enchanter is good so you can craft the glyph you need for your gear especially rings and necklaces.

But selling in the guild store WOULD be expensive due to having to find 3 components all 3 being very hard to find more less having to find all three to make the glyph.

BUT if you have the needed components im sure a master Enchanter wouldn't mind creating a glyph for you.....good luck.

I buy white ones in bulk in some of my guilds stores from people that sell them at appropriate prices for deconstruction purposes. I pass and laugh at everyone that tries to sell white glyphs for higher than the enchanting vendor.

The big market will be for made to order VR12 glyphs and you will probably have to talk to people in trade guild chat.

There are threads on this in the crafting.

The dropped and bought ones for armour are just shy of Epic crafted, better than the Blue ones. Last time I pointed this out someone put up a link to a table for values which is totally out of date so.... make of that what you will.

Jewelery enchants are worth it. Spell Harm is very high and stacks nicely. Damage shield proc and some other weapons glyphs are ok too.

Glyphs are a big deal at endgame, and there are no sources for good ones other than crafters. It's also the most difficult craft to level, so there's less competition.
