    It isn't, it can't be.

FACT no MMO is as detailed as a Single Player Game.
FACT all other Elder Scrolls games were Single Player.
FACT it's pointless to compare this game (or any other MMO) to a Single Player Game, especially one as good as Skyrim.
FACT it's quite fun to start every sentence with FACT.

ESO is a great game, but it's kind of a bit watered down to fit it into an MMO package. Not saying that's a bad thing btw.
But yeah if you fancy a bit of single player, definitely check out Skyrim/Oblivion/Morrowind. :)

skyrim bosses were epic? I love skyrim but come on 90% of them were just some guy named bandit leader at the end of a cave. The dragons were cool of course but most ES is just... some bandit leader at the end of a cave that has more health than normal.

smellen me some troll bait here

Not much different here but the veteran dungeons are pretty cool and the raid... could be better...

Its not supposed to be the same as Skyrim or any other single player game from the TES franchise.

Graphically it won't ever hold a candle to say Skyrim because it is a MMO and by default it has to be able to play on many different system configurations, where Skyrim even on PC was built to be played on top end systems or(at the time) latest gen consoles. Gameplay-wise, Skyrim was pretty different itself from other TES titles; TESO has the added difference that many MMO elements were by necessity added.

All in all, comparing TESO to Skyrim is like comparing a generic metro bus to a formula 1 race car. Both those vehicles are conveyances that take a person from point A to B; but they are made for very different ways of doing so. Which is a long way of saying you can't realisticallyor imo fairly compare any MMO to a single player offline title.

Yes, but an Idiot having fun.

FACT, self referential humor counters the idiot factor. I won't comment on the obvious lack of a sense of humor required to call someone an idiot in this circumstance. Oh wait, I commented on it. Oops.

I think most of us knew it wouldn't be as good graphically. But We expected to have many of the same features, like open world exploration that is HIGHLY REWARDING, a classless system in which you truly can feel unique, and an overall feeling of epicness.

Not to say this game is bad or anything, and maybe some of the things in Skyrim like a truly open world might not have been feasible. But still, I scratch my head at some of the decisions the game designers made which go away from elder scrolls, like the classless system that truly enabled a sense of individuality, the lack of really big dungeons rather than every dungeon being a square that takes 2 minutes to run through, and obvious stuff like casting a fireball from both of your hands instead of that really awkward looking staff animation. <--okay that last one is just a personal pet peeve.

@canghai you should definitely get it sometime. It's a must play. ESO & ES sp are two totally different cats though. One is epic, the other is striving to be in a completely different different genre.

A multiplayer game will never be able to match the epicness of a singleplayer game, that's the tradeoff that you make for playing with friends. But most important of all, buy Skyrim, seriously. The legendary edition has all the DLC included and it's only 30$. You'll get hundreds of hours of gameplay out of it, thousands if you start modding and challenge yourself by making new toons that are restricted to only a few skills or if you do roleplaying.

You missed a lot if you did not play at least Sykrim.
But the games get especially good with mods, such mods change The Elder Scrolls (i.e. Skyrim) into a gem.

Addons which slow down gameplay, surivival mods, more content, gameplay overhauls, graphical overhauls and so son...so mods are important.

The Elder Scrolls belongs to the best game series of all time.

    You really did miss something.

You can now add more mods than ever before to Skyrim. A new patch was done to enable more than max 4gig. I love Skyrim, still play it.

@canghai definitely try out Skyrim! If you get into it you should then try modding it, which will let you fix basically any issue you have with the game, and add dozens (if not hundreds) of hours of extra gameplay and replayability. Check out Gopher's YouTube channel for a great beginner's guide to modding Skyrim series.

I had never played any ES game until Skyrim came out, and since then I've put over 1000 hours of time into it! Not to mention that you can get the Legendary Edition of Skyrim (including all DLCs) pretty cheap nowadays!

    HI,
You should really try some of the other Elder Scrolls games! They are a blast and a lot of fun. We have been playing them since the first DOS based versions and before that our fav, ( I'm embarrassed to admit ) was Zork. Before that all we had was the random turn based games we would play over the arpanet, so in comparison, we are very happy so far with ESO, despite the issues that will eventually be sorted, it's one of our fav. online games. You won't be disappointed with the other Elder Scrolls Games.

Do Audiwen or whatever that dragons name was at 60 or above it's truly epic and if you use Deadly dragons and Dragon combat overhaul then it really gets interesting

Tanthil definately didn't get that I was using irony myself, to laugh at my comments.
