Trolls can be controlled. The way I kill them is by using the first ability for the destruction staff (clench, I think) that knocks them back. I fire a shot or two at them, then pop them back again. One on one the trolls are easy this way. An alternative to the staff strike thing might be volcanic rune in the Mages Guild line. If you're a sorceror, Daedric mines, restraining prison, even crystal fragments (though that might be a little tricky depending on how much space you have to play with) might do the job. The idea is to just keep them knocked down or stuck in a crowd control ability while you kill them at range. This works on just about everything except frost and storm atronachs (I can't kill storm solo yet).

Vet levels can be tough. Don't get discouraged if you burn alot of soul gems, or have to rearrange your toolbar for a fight.

Not all mobs are meant to be handled the same way, they allow you to be versatile in your builds (not optimal, but versatile)....might I suggest the fine art of Troll Punting?

And just for future questing reference....you can't punt Giants.

No way in hell, I would had been able to do the final boss alone as long as vr mobs are like this in pve, this will become unplayable for many, we were two people dealing with this boss, and it took us like 5-8 minuets to do, if I had done that alone, I would had run out of health/mag or what ever not being able to live to tell the tail

With all due respect, and as a primarily solo player as well, it is an MMO, not a single player game. You called for help. You got it. You beat the bad guy. I'm not sure what the problem is.

So im always afraid meeting trolls in this game, the self regan and +8k health is to much for me, without using a ultimative, which in this quest wont get active enough, since they are the only mobs around to kill.

The main thing I found that helps me with trolls is a fire enchant on my weapon. When it procs, it not only takes a large chunk out of their health, but also interrupts their crazy HP regen and knocks them down for a couple of seconds.

The fire enchantment is massively better than any other enchantment I've tested so far. There are several mobs that are very sensitive to them (trolls, vampires, imps, etc...), and AFAIK only fire atronachs are immune. Ever since I had to kill my first VR troll I only have fire enchantments on my weapons.

Are you by any chance referring to the Falinesti winter site in Grahtwood where you have to recover Rahjin's mantle? If so, I didn't have much of a problem there since AD is my home alliance. But I have to agree, trolls are very difficult to defeat and their 8k hp tends to be misleading, since they easily regenerate a few thousand hp during the fight itself, depending on how fast you can kill them of course.

VR ranks are not for casual... That is the way I looked at it and play the other alliances 1-50 and stop at VR1. As a casual I dont care about the VR12 "end game" to be competitive you cant be casual as well.
and if this is true the game will be F2P on PC in the next 3 months. They haven't made the endgame accessible to those who aren't willing grind the ever loving crap out of everything and on top of that, spend the absurd amount of money to respec

It's not a grind. It takes awhile to level yes. But this leveling is NOTHING compared to how some of the original games like EQ were with leveling. Games like those meant you actually knew how to play the game. There was no such thing as speed leveling. The current genre of mmo players seem to think that you should be able to get to end game in under a week. Because that makes a game fun...? Try playing the original eq and having naked corpse runs, losing exp after a death, losing an entire level because you died and have to now run through a zone naked that you're under leveled for. These current mmos are all about instant gratification. I'm nowhere near being a hardcore gamer anymore. Work, family, social life, only let me play on my two nights off. Even at that I'm vr2, taking my time leveling and doing quests, exploring the world and figuring the game out.

Certain mobs in game are harder than normal trash mobs. Is that a problem? Should all mobs be solo able with the mundane smash and bash routine? Or should certain mobs have some actual strategy involved if you'd like to try and solo them? I'll take the later. I enjoy a challenge and think there needs to be that variety in game or the game would be too easy. Just like the boss in Stormhaven, the ancient alter. That charged Atronach hits like a truck. But once you learn the fight mechanics he's easy. Which is why me and my father duoed him after we failed the first time.

Veteran levels are, meh. I don't now what the fuss about them is. Vr5 stuff is sooooo hard that I can solo it at vr1 on my temp.

It all becomes a balance nowadays to try and cater to both hardcore and casual players. Which I think they did quit well with vet levels. If you don't want the "grind" of vet levels, then roll another toon in another faction once you hit 50.(vr1)

Mobs should scale to level. I have said this many times. Going to the other zones to become Veteran level is fine, however, open world mobs should simply scale.

Added what was written by another poster above pertaining to 'fixing' the armors, skills and other assorted player and game issues we currently have should also have been done to enable a balanced play. An AA system to improve your character should begin at Veteran level. A way to continue to improve your character, to progress. Twelve levels with nothing for it is not an incentive.

Unfortunately the way that ESO has set up the two rivaling factions to be higher difficulty areas intended for Veteran levels has left many in doubt as to whether they wish to proceed into these areas. Exploring, adventuring and just sitting and watching the sun set should not be marred by those three wolfs around the corner. When you leave a raid, dungeon and return to the outside it is done with a sense of relief, satisfaction were you successful. Not coming outside to wonder if one will be met by a pack of three mobs that will wipe the floor with you.

There is a broad spectrum of players in all MMO's. Developers must cater to them all or lose a segment of the player base.

Lets put another perspective on it:

I have just tried to beat the Lost One in Craglorn as a four man group, and we didn't succeed, wiped 3-4 times maybe because of bad agro I dont know, maybe because its almost 2 am, and head cant think, who cares.

There im left with yeah I wanna go back and kill it tomorrow hard, and I didn't feel like its to hard, even though we wiped, I know ill be able to do it with the right tank. So Great work here with boosting veteran content levels for sure.

Pve, im almost scared and I feel like I rather wanna be in craglorn, and thats quite an accomplishment from Zenmimax actually, since I have always loved questing more in the aspect of mmo games, now its even hard to get around to do it.
