btw - how does it feel to be emperor, defending a keep with your 10 of your friends against 6 EP, and with your double siege weapon damage bonus still have a need to stand in a puddle of stacked caltrops - you want to talk about folks ruining a game? - look in the mirror mate - we left that defence because we were embarrassed to be next to somebody in our alliance, that has dominated skull crusher for over a month, and still finds a need to cheat and exploit against enemies and allies alike

It's actually pretty sad how quickly we can kill him and his buddies (even when we are outnumbered and outranked). Honestly come to think of it...it normally takes a substantial group of them to root us off of a resource after we've taken it. And no we don't go hide inside and farm at the doors but to be fair we don't stray to far away from the NPC's so if we have that "oh ***" moment we are within reach of safety pretty quickly.

Honestly I want to say thanks for not partaking in the petty bs that caltrops have set upon all of the other campaigns! Win or lose it's still fun and only a game!

yeah - we have fun matching up against you guys normally until you-know-who shows up

even last night as we were retaking the keeps i was chatting with nasasn (the EP emperor) about where we were so he could enjoy the fun (albeit for a brief time) of all the emperor perks

we met at Chalman and agreed no caltrops and he made an epic and heroic last stand defence - he had oil pots set up around the front flag and was dropping us nicely with the double siege weapon damage emperor bonus - in comes some other folks and start laying down caltrops all over the place - sad to see

we actually have some folks now from an AD group that sees us as the 'evil empire' spraying caltrops all over us to make it look like that's how we run - amusing and pathetic rolled into one - sad thing is when you're on the other side all you see is names and caltrops and it's natural to make the wrong conclusion (we will start using caltrops when we see enemy toons doing the same, usually in wabba)

if you guys are up for some 5v5 or 10v10 in the open with no mages, caltrops, siege equipment etc let me know - I think McTavish(sp?) and co rule usually with even numbers and no exploits, so could be some good fun

and don't lose heart - this set of 90 day campaigns is almost over - i think they will start of with fewer ones on the next cycle so a lot of this bs will be a moot point anyhows

    D.

Glad to hear it! I'll see if I can round up a few folks and coerce them into doing a nice lil 5V5 or 10V10 in a remote location....possibly a dungeon so no one see's the swords and wants to be a punk and jump in. Feel free to message me in game @huckdabuck and I'll let ya know what they say after I speak with them.

If I am thinking of the right guild then Noore is also trying to get people to stop using caltrops. You should be thankful to be on a campaign that has a guild trying to bring legitimacy and value to the campaign. I would gladly trade you our exploiters for those guys any day.

yup - that would be us - no way to stop it though - it's a matter of honor and character i guess - those that are legitimate will never understand those that cheat and exploit, those that cheat and exploit will laugh at those that don't as they reap in the benefits and rewards - the two sides will never agree

in a direct conversation with a ZOS employee in tune with these things, they stressed just how important fixing this issue was to them, but that it isn't a simple hotfix since it involves not just caltrops, but how many AoE effects work in general, and some intense recoding and rethinking of some game mechanics and how 'fixing' one thing can unbalance another that sets off a whole new chain of events - I was satisfied that the response was genuine effort on their part, and will live with the frustration in the meantime - the fix will be coming sooner rather than later was my understanding (they also unofficially expressed the sentiment along the lines of 'if you can't beat them, join them until we fix it)

lemme know what campaign you are in and maybe we can guest over and arrange a friendly visit *grins*

Good news to everyone is that Caltrops is on the list to be fixed in the 1.1.3 prerelease patch notes (for Monday) seen in the general discussion forum. Only a few more days of it, thank god.

I'm in Hopesfire but It's been AD locked for a month now. There are a lot of vet capped AD, no DC, and there seems to be only 4 vet capped EP It's pretty much an emperor farm grave yard at this point.

I would feel honored to share the same campaign but ours is pretty much dead.

The one thing you all fail to understand is repeating a scout mission to a resource at a keep you can port to is NOT a exploit. The real exploit involves setting it up so you port right to a keep that is the scout mission destination.

    lets do some math today.
scout mission = 11k exp at veteran level 11 every 90 seconds if you have a super fast scout mission. So about 22K every 3 minutes.
Craglorn = 37K exp at veteran level 11 every 3 minutes running back and forth between two locations.

Im the guy that is fighting to get the best exp for everyone and not a cheating exploiter as some would have you believe.

Just like capping all the resources around keeps is not a problem. In fact, it's the objective of the Alliance War.

it's an exploit - why do you think they have changed it twice now? - once shutting it down for the week, 2nd time with the last patch - but you've still found a way around it, and they'll have to figure out something that will potentially screw the rest of us over

and let's clear some things up here 'champion of the people' - you're not doing this for everyone - you're doing it for YOURSELF and your bunch of cronies - the only ones that were crying foul were your buddies in AJSA who i have to say were very creative in their daily abuse

even people in zone chat that you were messaging to join in your obscenity filled tirades (name blanked out to respect their privacy) turned their backs on you, your exploit, and your stupid AJSA crony zone chat 4 letter word politics

    451fa25a56.jpg

you don't even realize, after all the comments, that there's even a remote possibility you're doing anything wrong - you're the 'champion of the people' in your mind alone

you also don't realize that YOU start this stuff, not me, however i'm not going to sit here whilst you try and put us down and badmouth us

let's do some math today shall we?:

there are ZERO people who agree with your 'exploit', 79 'agrees' on comments against your exploit

there are ZERO people who think your exploit is 'awesome', 21 'awesome' on comments against your exploit

the 12 LOL's to your original post are people laughing AT you, not with you
(in case this needs explaining, they are laughing at the fact that an exploiter would post details explaining how he cheats, and then ask others to support his exploit and denounce those of us trying to prevent it)

my personal recommendation to you is to drop this - this thread was already forgotten on page 2, but for some unexplainable reason you wanted to revive it - i can't stop you from spitting out your inner dummy - only you can do that

You know, theres an easy fix to this.

Make it so scout quests/capture quest can only be done on one "Objective" once every 24 hours, doesn't bust the system but it allows people "Actually" doing the quest to maintain in an active campaign. Simple stuff really.

Which is exactly what you were doing in-game when people wouldn't listen to you and capped the resource you were farming.

I don't agree with the exploit cause it gives you Alliance Points! idc about exp, you are just using the repeatable quest to keep yourself first as emperor.

You want to do this for AP, not for veteran XP. Do you really think everyone is oblivious to that fact?

The result is ultimately going to be that the scouting quest is made into a daily because you refuse to stop exploiting it. Way to go looking out for the little people who actually want to just get some XP from the quest and don't care about exploiting it.

All the exploiting/cheating is why we can't have nice things. I'm so very tired of it. This is why PvP turns into a hellish nightmare in every single game - because inevitably, it attracts that small minority of ill-behaved players. It's a shame, really, because the PvP here can be tremendously fun until you are struggling against people using exploits.

although it wouldn't be able to be done for a whole variety of reasons, I'd love to see them put in a campaign where a reputable guild from each faction had the power to invite/boot members from it's faction to join in the campaign

know of a reputable guild/player either in yours or an enemy faction? - invite them to join or refer them to the 'enemy' guild in charge of the appropriate faction

    exploiters? - kick them out

unbalanced? - power guild won't invite anymore to it's side until power (not pops) stabilizes

emperor farming? - kick them out

drama, politics, false accusations would make this difficult in reality, but man it'd be nice to give it a try
