better time for maintenance???

peterjameson
you can't come up with a better time for maintenance than mornings when people are up and looking to play? Why not start it at 3am or something when more people are asleep than awake?

Most people are at work during the maintenance time.

Don't start complaining about the times or they'll do something dumb and move the days to a Friday or Saturday or something. We've got them to move to Mondays and Thursdays - be happy with that. If the game wasn't such a mess they wouldn't need both days but, currently, that's the way it is.

By the way, 3am East Cost is still too early for West Coast US. You could move it forward 2-3 hours maybe but it's never going to fit well for Australia. Just have to deal with it.

Funny how all the Australians in my guild have no issues with the maintenance times because they understand that Zenimax schedules the downtime to affect the least amount of players and be convenient to the majority (united states)

So you would rather they anger the majority of the players to make things convenient for you?

I concur...... Being in Australia this down time during peak hour for us allows me to break free from my constant and growing eso addiction by spending quality time with my uhhh family.

Cheers for that Zen much love

No, certainly not. However, as the OP suggested, 3 AM would probably be less intrusive to a great deal more players. It's 8 AM EST right now and the server is coming down just as I sit down to my morning coffee to kill a few minutes by killing for a few minutes. In Australia right now it is anywhere from 8 PM to 10 PM, pretty much smack dab in the middle of prime time.

3 AM would be more convenient for most everyone but the staff at ESO.

Normally I'm pretty understanding with maintenance times, but the pointless research time sink exacerbates the issue.

Maybe let us schedule research times in advance?

Hey, the staff at ESO have lives too. And since they do one or two a week, that would make them have to keep much of their staff of programmers on a graveyard shift, at the very least on call if something went wrong.

They already explained why they picked this time of day: less players active so less players frustrated because they cannot play. They have to favor the majority!

You're suggesting that Zeni should cater to the minor majority?

Indeed. It's in 'our' prime time basically (Australian).
But I completely understand and have no problem with it being when it is.

While this time does impact those of us that are wanting to play, it is the best time overall because the fewest people are on at these times.

(You can verify that by running through a zone and spotting all of the treasure chests...they are EVERYWHERE... That means no one is on...)

Oh well, DOTA time for a couple of hours.

Somebody doesn't understand there is the US server and the EU server, maintenance occurs twice for two different servers, which by the way is not even used every week. Please leave your rage at the door.

OOPS! Heh, looks like you don't understand that while there most certainly is separate maintenance for US and EU, they BOTH most definitely have 2 days per week scheduled for maintenance.
