So oil travels up walls now?

So I'm on top of a keep wall shooting my arrows at random people, when I die from flaming oil. Wondering how in the world this happened I took a look around and noticed right below me someone placed some flaming oil which traveled up the wall and gibbed me for 2600hp.

In the world of Tamriel, which is a great fantasy world filled with interesting characters, amazing lore, and some neato creatures, oil doesn't need our silly physics.

This is a great feature I'm going to use it all the time on enemy keeps.

Thanks, @andersan. We've sent this along to the dev team and QA to check out. Did you use /bug in game to report it as well? (If you happen to get a screenshot of this, we'd be interested in seeing it.)

I don't submit bug reports for this game anymore nor do I take screenshots of bugs. With all due respect to you (since you're not responsible for the overall experience I have) I have no confidence that anything will ever get fixed by the company you work for. I'm a nightblade after all.

Also kidding (if people can't tell) about doing this myself because it's just a *** move.

You get a response from a CSR, and this is how you reply?

You reveal that you have no interest in anything but garnering attention and creating a scene.

Do something helpful instead of wasting people's time.

You know you got a dev actually responding to you to try and help you and all you do is basically shrug it off? Most threads in these forums do not get a direct ZOS employee specifically asking you a question. They probably have had this bug reported many times and realize its a problem and need more data that you now wont provide. why bother posting your problem in the first place?

    I dont get people anymore.

He is a paying customer that was venting/announcing a bug. He does not need to do anything.

Since a ZOS person is reading this thread, could you be so kind as to let the dev team and QA guys know that oil traveling up walls is a small problem compared to the game breaking lag that happens every night?

We've go folks looking into that as well, especially the increased latency recently occurring in Cyrodiil. @Banono1, are you experiencing it in Cyrodiil? If so, what campaign? Or is the latency you're experiencing everywhere? What megaserver are you on?

Oil up wall. That's nuts. At some point it would be nice to see oil only do damage below its placement area. Pouring flaming oil at ones own feet just makes zero sense to me.

Responding with derogatory remarks is also a waste of time. I let them know via the forums. That's good enough for me. They can spend 5 minutes testing this on their own.

I don't care if you like my response or not. Last comment from me in this thread.

So, you'd rather troll the forums with this than do something that my help the devs solve a problem by submitting a bug report.

    Brilliant! smh

    @ZOS_JessicaFolsom,

It was in Cyrodiil and I have not noticed anything in other zones. Yesterday it seemed to have hit at about 3pm PST on the Wabbajack server NA.

Here's an example of yesterday's PvP; We (Daggerfall) were attacking AD to get back our scroll and had our carrier defeated outside of Blackboot Keep. AD then took the scroll behind their gate when the server was hit with a giant disconnect. When we logged back in the scroll was placed back into Blackboot (which was still under our control) and a scroll for EP magically appeared in their temple. After running the scroll back the game became unplayable due to the massive skill lag that was effecting all the DC players and most likely the other factions too.

Abilities would take upwards of 15 seconds after the button press to trigger and siege equipment could not be used.

I'm not sure what happened after this because the the raid I was in and myself logged out in disgust.

Hey maybe they can fix caltrops and mercenary mage spamming too? Or are you too focused on not fixing NBs, nerfing Templars, and destroying any dungeon we can level your ridiculous veteran levels in efficiently?

The oil pots have been used like this for quite a while now. I see it often used when you have an alliance spawn trapped at there main spawn. The wall that you cannot climb to get a few more kills.. Place an oil pot down next to the wall and the damage will apply at the top where they are standing.

I do not offer screen shots, but there is another example of where you can test this.

Just use the caltrops exploit like everyone else. Its also super good when you storm a tower.

The entire part of oil on the ground is also epicly messed up. Oil needs to drop from a set distance.

I guess I just do not understand why you bothered posting in the first place if you are unwilling to help them potentially solve the issue. Would it not be better to at least be able to say you did everything you could to help solve the issue, whether it is solved in the end or not?

Have seen it too. It's like the AOE circle is 'mapping' the area despite obstacles/vertical, like dropping a 2D circle down on the 3D map.
The only negative experience in ESO is those that make it negative.

I love this, find a thread a dev posts in and try to swamp them with all of your problems.
    Ill just add to that.
My car makes a strange noise when cornering hard, I know that nothing is rubbing anywhere and the noise seems to be mechanical.
My car is mid engine and has run completely smooth to this point.
How do I fix this immediately with no extra cost.
And no you do not get anymore information than that.

Come on ZoS, I have already wrote several sentences and you have not fixed it yet.. Guess I better cancel my sub.

When something like that happens, it was magic. Got stuck behind a wall and had to die to get out? Magic. Suddenly falling through the ground to end up at another zone? Magic.

And remember that time when your dad went out to buy cigarettes and never came back? Yup, you guessed it, magic.

@Avidus Sounds like a bad CV joint. You might be able to just repack it with grease (they often lose grease and go dry if the rubber boots deteriorate).
Also check the ball and cage surfaces, if they're badly pitted, you'll need to replace the whole CV.

How any of you can still respect Zenimax is beyond me. They have continually shown a complete lack of concern for their customer base as a whole over and over.
    • They do not have adequate testers or a testing environment for what they release. No public testing realm right off the bat?
    • They do NOT release information or statements on a timely basis. (The vet mob buff during the craglorn patch anyone?)
    • They continually do NOT release information they should (this is evident by the changes made during patches that are not communicated). Do other MMO's have long threads detailing changes that aren't included in patch notes?
    • They did not balance their classes or release completed classes. Beta testers have often commented on the fact that Templars and Nightblades were released late in the beta process and were not ready for launch at all.
    • The sheer time it takes for them to fix quest bugs or mob respawns or whatever else. Sure these didn't affect me much but the existence of them is problem enough.
    • The pvp issues like caltrops, or the vampire ult, or even the oil should never have existed.
    • The dupe bug (not that I care because it didn't affect me) along with people losing their items.

There are just too many problems to list. I would have been happy waiting for a few months for this game instead of this.

I feel sorry for Jessica and the other staff that post and reply here because it's mostly fanboys pretending that there are no issues or it's people with a TON legitimate issues.

I still have hope for this game. I just have no faith in the team that manages it. You can still like a game and criticize the creators for their many missteps.

    Stop apologizing for them.

EDIT: Just to be clear I still play and I still have fun. I just can't ignore the incompetence (or maybe it's just ignorance) of Zenimax.
