I agree with the Templar Spear nerf

Why? Bots. This was their bread and butter. They would run around just spamming that spear. Now that there is about a second cooldown on the ability, I have seen bots biting the dust lately.

It also provides some entertainment for real players. Most bots are made to try to avoid more than 2 man groups, so players would just train another mob on them. Even then, that spear was an equalizer. Now with that cooldown, if they get mobbed by at least 4 enemies they are toast. In the span of 10 minutes today I got the same bot killed 10 times by training mobs on it. It was quite fun.

Thats not what I want. My point was that was the MAIN skill bots use because it was low cost, high power, and spammable with no cooldown.....in other words OP.

Keep in mind I'm not whining about this ability because of pvp, I don't play PVP. But until bots are taken care of, abilities like this need to be adjusted. its still a good ability. But its not push to win anymore

Yes sir! Nerf player skills and abilities so the Hackers cannot use them. To hell with the players and their fun! ZOS is happy to screw players over instead of actually fixing their tech so they can catch and stop the hackers. And, yeah, I play a Templar and am NOT happy with either of the nerfs. Nor am I happy about the nerfed loot drops, because, by GOD, cannot have the hackers getting the loots!

Last time I checked its wasn't low cost compared to a lot of other skills. I never really cared about the bots. I do care about my Templar tanks main melee DPS ability being borked.

Nope. Nightblade. and how does this "bork" the templar? God forbid you have to use a different ability now and then

    Pathetic reasoning...

ZoS can't control the bots so they punish players...excellent argument...

I appreciate being insulted guys. I really do. Thanks.

I should have known this would happen for ever agreeing with a nerf.

I wont go as far as "borking" the class. This nerf does however take the weakest class in the game and give their primary dps skill the only global cool-down in the game. It makes no sense from a balance standpoint. None at all. The current meta is play a Sorc or DK, or don't bother trying to be competitive in Trials or PVP.

Bots biting the dust? your closing your eyes for long periods of time?

The bots are on the rise, they are grouping and playing (no player names their character gwtiljffgsjlp and manages to move THAT fast) in area's and are left unchecked by Zeni.

1 GM standing in area's like Saintsport etc would see them running about
ZoS please understand everyone thinks and pronounces things differently, so please add to your 'rules' that things get removed if the Mod doesn't actually quite understand phrasing

It is bad because that is really the ONLY half-way good melee DPS skill Templars have.

It is doubly bad as the nerf is not to fix an OP class skill; it is being done to 'fix' botting. Bad business all around.

You're talking about a skill you don't know. You don't know how much damage it did, or how much magicka it cost. You're just saying "hurray the bots won't use it anymore", but that's just silly, cause bots are still there, but this time, with angry templars realizing their only melee dps skill is gone and has been replaced with a global cooldown machine.

Before the patch, templars had a pretty weak melee dps compared to the other classes, now, they have none. That's the reality, and almost every templar will tell you (if they're not rolling destro/resto staff/bow as main weapon)

I have an idea of how much damage it did from watching single bots use it. it was quite a bit imo

I saw an army of bots in Crestshade (Rivenspire) last night running around spamming this skill. Bots haven't changed. They teleport from mob spawn to mob spawn in groups and with their numbers the change to the templar spear doesn't make a difference.

You applaud a nerf to an entire class because bots happened to be using the skill? This is some terrible logic.

I am really happy you don't work for ZoS.

No. Its the main skill bot use because its at the top of the list and doesnt need aimed.

I can guarantee you if another class had a frontal cone aoe with no aim requirement, theyd use it instead.

And, it hasnt reduced the number of bots.

Not just the bots really. they are a reason, but look at the skill before the nerf: you could get by on it alone. Does that not qualify as needing balance?

Bots only used that ability because they are programmed by morons who cant think of anything better.

the ability itself was just fine as it was.

Finally, bots have not changed because of this "nerf" and still spam Strikes like its out of style.

all this change did was screw the skill for legitimate players.... and you expect to not get insulted for making this topic?

you have outright flamed any templar player who used this skill as the backbone for a build, just with your title... Dont expect any mercies on this forum...
I play every class in every situation. I love them all.

I dont use it on either of my templars and Im pissed about it.

Especially since they did it because of the bots they cant keep under control.

Melee templar is already lacking(why I dont use it, nor do I like it) and they do this?

If this is how they aim their nerfs get ready sorcs your pets are about to bite it. Im already seeing bot trains of sorcs with 2 pets each. It was annoying enough with 5 temps all spamming. But now 5 turn into 15. Nice annoying crowd you have there.

I doubt this was the real intention of the nerf. Its just a side effect. They already said they were going to revert it and increase the cost, which I think is a good compromise

I play a Templar, and you can NOT get by on that skill alone. If you try to melee only with it, you will get stomped into the ground. But it is our main melee skill, that we use in conjunction with our ranged skills and our heals.

None of these are good enough to stand alone on. And if one of them is gimped, we are really gimped all the way around.

People saying things like that don't know the skill. In VR Zones, spamming only biting jabs will get your killed quickly.

For christ'sake, this is not a real AoE, it makes a cone in front of you, if mobs move, they don't get touch. It doesn't make huge damage unless mobs are under 25%. It knocks back only one guy whos in front of the cone. Read the freaking description and watch videos before saying that.

Not only is it high Magicka cost and a cone, it is also limited in number of targets it hits, and only knocks back the closest target. It is only really effective when used with other skills, such as Bow skills (Sta resource usage).

We are not angry. Just having a hard enough time getting ZOS to realize that fighting hackers by gimping players is not the way to go about it.

And, it makes it tougher when someone tells them what a great job they are doing.
