At least ten, probably more lvl 2 bots are "questing" that level 37 area right now. I can't keep up reporting. A GM should just nuke that place right now...

There is a difference with multi boxing and botting

Are all the characters doing the exact same movements and spells and whatnot?

Make that 25 by now... Since the server seems to be pretty empty, it should be easy to find the phase/instance they are in. There should be a GM on staff, especially during US East Coast daytime...

It's very obvious when it's bots and when it's a multiboxer, since a human can't control more than maybe three characters effectively at once (and will have huge trouble even with that)

    When it's 25, it's bots for sure.

Why so quick to defend the bots? It doesn't matter if they are botting or boxing since they are level 2's in a level 37 area and clearly violating the TOS.

As far as I can see, they are all going to the same NPC. The movements are not exactly the same. Some seem to wait in line, others stand at the side for some time and move later. It does not seem to be totally synchronized.

Regarding the underlying boxing/phasing/instancing technology - I have no idea how that works, nor am I supposed to. All I can do is report what I see.

It's at least 40 bots now. I seem to be the only human player in the instance. They all come up to talk to Captain Odreth at the second floor of a treehouse. They come up the ladder in groups of two or three. they all look slightly towards the wall when they come up. so they hit it first, wait, jump, and then run to the NPC. Seems to be the same script for most of them.

Kinda fascinating I have to admit. But even more: infuriating.

Number of bots that came through now at least at 50. Still no one stopping them.

Maybe, I am naive, but this instance I am watching could have been a huge opportunity, to ban at least 60 bots at once. And the number of bots coming through is still rising...

There clearly does not seem to be a GM on. I just hope they are busy working the underlying mechanics to prevent this from the ground up.

Sounds like that endless string of lvl2 characters with names such as "sdlkvfjasdlf" and of course, "frmljkfdg" running around in the Hollow City... still not sure if that's a bot train or some sort of a weird bug...

In case you're curious as to why there probably isn't a rush to remove the bots...

    (60 * $39.99) + (60 * $14.99) = $3298.8

I refuse to believe they would be that short-sighted.
    90 bots and counting, btw...

Even if it's a multiboxer and not a bot, they need to get banned because they are using a 3rd party software.

I consider them to be the same thing and report either way.

Not really, especially in the case of IGE.

Could be one person multi-boxing, or just a train of bots. Either way, they are gold farmers cashing in on the quest rewards, and although they are not disrupting game play in any way, they are violating the TOS by selling in game goods for real world currency. If there were no customers to provide the service, maybe they would not be in game, farming gold.

On a slightly positive note, ESO support got back to me, summarizing my ton of reports with a personal message from an actual human being from staff. They confirmed the reports and promised action. Let's hope they get them all, this was a perfect opportunity.

Regarding screenshots, I sent them to ESO. No need to post them here, unless anyone here would not know what a bot looks like. Unfortunately, I am afraid we all do.

What game do you see that many bots hacking their way through a game completely unconcerned? Makes ya feel like the dev/mods don't care...

The bot train is back in Vinedust Village. Another batch of fresh level two to three akfdhaefaef-Characters.

They are using this location because you can do the quest without enemy interaction, if your script works. Also, they teleport from tree hut to tree hut. So they are in addition using some sort of cheat, and kiting monsters towards them is impossible.

If a GM would just stand there at the questgivers, he could probably ban several hundred bot accounts within an hour.

perhaps they need to think about putting in a level restriction for quests to be meant for an appropriate level. Just a thought.
