Templar problems

i have been playing a templar since launch and i only had difficulties with certain bosses however now in veteran 4 area of ali'kir desert i can no longer solo the monsters and i have since it was available used ransack crippling slash biting jabs luminous shards/unstoppable and if it was needed lingering ritual and shield bash/ 1h axe and my ultimate was empowering sweep now this build no longer works for me a customer service rep told me veteran content was not meant to be solo'ed but my guild mates say that is not true and they can solo it no problem, so my question to everyone is what can i do differently to be able to solo veteran 4 areas since my build is no longer effective

There is currently only two classes in this game, DK and Sorcs.
Templar's and NB are just 'extras' that have not been removed yet.

Yeah, vet content is fairly tough for us temps, but it's most certainly meant to be solo'd. Nobody in their right mind is gonna go "HEY GUYS WANNA DO 3 HOURS OF FETCH QUESTS WITH ME?? "
The only content that's mandatory for groups is group dungeons and pvp. The rest is soloable.
QQing is a full time job

Try using chained Sun Shield combined with a stamina based weapon. Piercing Javelin can also be a nice spell for some minor crowd control. Going Vampire for the combination life drain and stun is also a lifesaver + the ultimate is really nice for PvE (just make sure to get some fire resist enchantment even if it's a shop bought one).

I basically used biting jabs as a primary solo skill all the way to Veteran content but you really need to start experimenting a bit more and trying out new things to take on these mobs solo even if it's getting out of your confort zone.

You're wrong. I saw a templar there on the leaderboards. We have no problems!

Seriously though. We can manage. And I do mean manage - I doubt you'll ever see a templar run into a pack of 6 mobs and his health never drop like I've seen other classes do.

I use a tank-ish build on my first bar - for packs of 3+ mobs where I spam Volcanic Rune. I use biting jabs and the heal from my class on this one.
On the other bar I use a bow - for 1-2 mobs. I use Javelin and heal from my class on this one. Between Javelin and bow skills I can keep the mobs away.

Maybe it helps a little. I like my spec and I find it even fun, but it may not work out as well for you.

As a VR5 templar I just switched from a self healing tank build to a resto/destro combo with light armor. Theres no denying it can be tough but I still manage to solo most content without too much trouble.
The most deadly enemy for me is the dreaded weapon switch, which I rely on for keeping myself alive.

Yes I have to agree. Getting your butt kicked by a mud crab or two does seem a tad overboard as well.

    What build are you running?

I have no problems with survivability as a templar, I mean we have pretty awesome heals! VR12 atm and have had no issues with tanking in groups or even in pvp solo. Can take a pretty big beating from most mobs and players before going down.

As a heavy templar, just make sure you slot the proper skills as a tank and your survivability will increase dramatically.

I run 2h on my other skill line that focuses on dps and cc (primarily cc). Volcanic rune for multiple mobs is a must!

I never really used Biting Jabs, drained too much mana and was more burst dps than control in a fight. Make sure to balance out your skill line so that you don't drain one line too fast as well.

I understand you are using 1h+board mainly. racksnakc is veryuseful so keep using that, you can add defensive stand to reflect magic mobs and stun them
    also add a healing skill
other that that its a slow game for 1h+board templars, you need to keep blocking. nothing you can do
