This post is for those in favour of an Auction House, suggestions as to how it could be implemented in the best way possible to keep the majority of people happy. The aim is for this to be constructive & a realistic way for Zenimax, Bethesda etc to work with the community.
I'm sure everyone is sick of the continuing discussions about Guild Stores vs Auction Houses...
I just wanted to share my part, I understand full well that having 1 Auction House across a mega server may not be ideal. But I still feel that an Auction House is a Viable Option - It's just working a way to incorporate it as best possible to ESO.
Starting Point - An Auction House For Each Faction
From this, it's working out the best way to prevent an economic crisis.
My suggestions:
- Listed Items Cap, much like the guild stores have now it's a great way to prevent mass listing of multiple products which will help to regulate item cost.
- Specific Item Cap, putting a cap on how many of 'One Item' you can list. For example, capping someone to only be able to list 5 Iron Ore Stacks.
- Item Listing Cap, having a cap on how long an item can be listed for. In my opinion, 24 or 48 Hours.
- Account Auction Cap, to prevent people listing the same item but spread across different characters, use total account cap.
- Zone Specific Auction Houses, somewhat like the black market in WoW. Tailored more towards high end players, having a Auction House in each zones Main City. This could be where there's a 6-12 hour maximum listing duration as to keep the market fresh & continually updating. Yes, this may be a pain for players having to keep coming back but it also prevents the ease of logging on, spamming the market with a bunch of auctions, then rinse & repeat.
These are only a few suggestions, please note I thoroughly enjoy this game. I'm not trying to say it should be WoW & by all means there's arguments against every point I have made - Which I am very aware of. I'm just trying to share my opinion and likewise for others.
