Scarcity of upgrade materials and storage = Bots! Bots! Bots

SybleyStarfire
Every MMO has had some bots; but I have never seen so many bots in my entire life. I believe that the scarcity of upgrade materials and storage are keeping the fire stoked for pumping out bots. The reason the bots persist is they have customers!

ESO customers are not getting what the want through the normal channels and so are buying from these crooks. I have 3 alts and all 3 have done everything on the map (quests, dungeons, bosses, etc) My 3 crafters deconstruct EVERYTHING but what they are wearing. Okay, so I have a combined total of 95 levels (My highest is Lvl 49 and is in Coldharbour) and have an average of 3 purple and 2 yellow upgrade materials for each of my 3 crafts and the crafts are only leveled to 29-34. Something is wrong with this system. I'm finding it very grindy and extremely unrewarding. And yes, I have skill points in the crafts. I can't even make ONE purple item after 2 months of deconstructing gobs of items every day.

I get some decent drops once in a while; but they aren't necessarily the look nor the traits I would've wanted. :(

Gamers are used to have more freedom of choice about the gear's stats and appearance. Gamers are also used to having some in-game conveniences such as sufficient storage and a centralized store. Say what you will but I don't want to spend my online time sifting through 5 guild stores only to find they don't filter at all and don't even have one item I need. (I'm in a huge guild) Or spend time logging onto alts. Some like the horse trading in zone. They could do this even if we had an auction house. I saw this a lot in other games. Doesn't take away their fun.

And I don't think it's fair to call people hoarders. ESO created a craft . . . deconstructing system where one craft alone (clothier) has 62 unique items (includes unrefined items because you rarely end up with even lots of 10 items to refine). Crafters keep an inventory because if they need to craft something; they don't want to have to run out and gather for 2 hours; deconstruct a 100 items and hope hope hope hope you can get a crafting trait gem they need as there is no reliable source to obtain them .. . so you keep the items on an alt. Of course, I get a zillion Racial Trait Gems looting or from my hireling but as this crafting system isn't about crafting actually as much as it is about deconstructing - who needs this many?

I despise the gamers that buy from these gold spammers; but I understand why they do it. As long as ESO persists with their restrictive storage and upgrade materials; you can count on bots to be an ever present force in our in-game world. So very sad.

I agree about bank space but the majority of your rare materials come from refining not deconstructing. Make sure you have points invested into extraction skill. As you advance into veteran ranks you should begin to obtain more rare materials from refining higher level materials.

It's been 4 days since I've seen a bot and 3 days since a gold spam. But no it's not because of storage space it's because some people are just stupid and lazy enough to buy from them.

Thanks for the reminder Sov713 about the refining! I spend hours farming as well and do have points into extraction; but have a glimmer of hope now to hear that I might be able to expect more of the rare materials in the vet level zones.

I was concerned about getting good gear for the vet zones as I'm told that it really helps to not only know your class in order to meet the challenging situations in the vet zones; but that this is where is pays to have good gear as well. Just trying to prepare for the vet zones.

There is a problem with crafting generally. For example, as natural consequence of questing and deconstructing I naturally hit level 50 clothing at around vr10 and crafted my self a nice set of purples at vr12.

In comparison enchantment which I started at the same time in on level 26 and the funny thing is for the first few worlds up until about 40 I actually farmed some of these and took time out from questing to level it.

Level 26 and I'm now vr12. You will find none, Zippa, zilch in the vr levels, especially the blue potency runes which are the ones that dictate if you can actually use the matts you are gathering.I was grinding the vile manse in vr10 dungeon last night just to get my glyphs as craglorn drops level 50 glyphs only.

I have 110 slots in my inventory it took 90 drops before I even got a glyph, 3 hrs it took me to find 3 monumental (white) glyphs for my vr armour, I got three glyph drops from about 300 items I gathered. The other 298 items were all viable to either wood work, black smithing or clothing.

You will find hardly any glyphs on drops, you will struggle also to find the matts in nature, so if you get ahead on the maps you will find that half the stuff you gather from vr1 onwards you can't use until your about vr10 as u simply won't have the required level to unlock the potency.

    Enjoy

You can't upgrade items to purple by deconstructing unless you're deconstructing purple items.

About the bag space. The way I tackle that is by having the crafter hold all the items that have (Clothing) written in the description box. All the trait & race materials should be in your shared bank. If you upgrade your bank and character a couple times it should be enough.

I also recommend starting a guild and getting at least 10 people to join it. That way you have access to a 500 slot guild bank. I throw all my provisioning & enchanting stuff in there with space for weapons/armor I want to swap out to crafting characters for deconstruction.

I have mule alts set up to hold craft mats. My actual crafting toon needs to quest to buy the crafting skill points and I use my bank to store the gems all 3 crafters use. And I have considered the create a guild option as well - 10 people then would get 50 extra slots. I have several mechanism in place to cope. But my point is Why? Zenimax customers are starved for more space and so find workarounds such as storage guilds, mule alts and addons to manage the various coping systems. Why make your customers cope?

And it is good not to flood the market with purples, but honestly . . . 2 months of refining and deconstructing and I can't make one item even to prepare for vet zone?

And two months of gaming and I can't find but one or two items in guild stores for my level? I run around in drops and in a few pieces I craft. I rarely repair. I am able to meet the challenging bosses in the junk I wear, but like many I like crafting my gear with certain stats or looks. For me, that's the reason I spend hours leveling crafting. At higher levels, the crafting so far has minimal value to the gamer. Why bother? Guess it could be worse and you had to rely solely on drops or the drops peeps put in guild store (drops . . . Cuz few craft and sell in stores. Should be grateful for that maybe as by the time they factor in days of gathering and deconstructing the cost would be prohibitive)

And I have heard from friends how frustrated they are with leveling enchantments. Seems unnecessarily difficult and unfair to those that chose this craft. My woodworking zooms along in craft level - clothier is 4 levels behind and blacksmith 6 levels behind.

I try not to be so negative, but honestly it's hard to accept some of the limitations when it ends up chewing up a lot of online time and leaves one feeling so unsatisfied. I am trying to enjoy the parts of the game that are good, but it eventually comes back to getting frustrated about storage and the crafting limitations.

And I still see bots everywhere I quest in every map and every quest hub. They bots are still thriving and doing a good business with Zenimax customers unwilling to grind for some basic conveniences.

Since start the spawned crafting nodes are scares by the day. Guess more and more bots are farming them so regular players don't get any. Most professions you can deconstruct to level but enchanting you need to find nodes. With no more potency nodes my enchanting have stopped getting higher. 2014 and they still have static places for crafting material nodes, bot heaven.
