VR Solo Content not giving enough XP

I'm wondering if anyone else is having a similar problem. I started Stonefalls, the first AD VR zone, as a fresh VR1, having just completed the main quest and Coldharbor. I made sure to get the quest achievement from each zone (missing now due to a bug), and all the solo delves I could do.

For various reasons, mostly revolving around a lack of other people questing at the time, or place, or phase for things like dolmens and public dungeons or world bosses, I haven't completed those. So I've done all the quest areas, most of the side quests, and all the quest chains up until Bangkorai.

I'm behind somehow. I'm VR8, with half an experience bar, going into Bangkorai, the AD VR10 zone. I feel like I should at least have started VR9 by now, if not be close to VR 10. And I don't know why this is. Is VR content and levelling geared towards people with groups who can complete every Dolmen, Public Dungeon, and World Boss around? What about the Instanced Dungeons, do I have to do those to level more? I refuse to grind mobs, and I know that's not a required thing, so what gives?

Yeah, you'd need to knock out some of those Dolmen's, Publics, and World bosses. They're worth more than the quests honestly.

Really? Shouldn't I be able to level solo anyway? I can't take on an entire Dolmen by myself. And World Bosses are only doable if they're affected by Magnum Shot, and I have a wide area to kite.

Grind those mobs if you want to stick to solo. Id say buck up and get in some groups. Unfortunately you can't get to VR10 on quests alone.

Which seems like a problem. I'm not averse to joining groups to get things done, but it's a harder thing. I spent two hours in Alik'r Desert today waiting and advertising in zone chat before I got a group for one world boss, and the public dungeon before it dissolved. This is not an easy thing to do, especially without the veteran zones being filled with players. Zone chat was silent for a good portion of the day.

if you do all the quest, dolmens, world bosses, public dungeon for each vet zone you will still finish around Vet8.5.

I even did a crp ton of pvp and the cropsford dailies and still fell short of the amount of xp required to hit v10.

I also managed a few guild clears of BC, Spindleclutch etc.

(although this was before mobs got xp bumped - but I cant see how that would make much difference).

So it's not even that I'm missing that stuff. The XP is just inadequate for what's required.

This should be fixed.

Did you do all the group content as well? Or excessive PvPing or farming XP?

Greenshade could use a few more quests IMO. I went into this zone already VR3, and could not get to VR4 until I went and did the first chain in the next zone. I did almost everything in Greenshade, even the public dungeon group challenge. I didn't run the VR group dungeon, so maybe I would have picked up enough there? Oh, and grinding public dungeons is way too slow (not worth it really).

No to any of the three. I barely PvP, I don't farm XP and I rarely ran with a group unless it was a world boss or dolmen.

I was the same to be fair, and had the whole of Reapers March left to go.

Then, on entering Reapers March, I found that all the dolmens, bosses, quests etc gave about 40% less XP than the Vet 9 zone (about 55k instead of the previous 81k (?))

I'm having the same problem. I'm VR4 now. In addition to finishing more quests than are required for the zone achievement, I've completed every solo dungeon, world boss, and dolmen in every VR area so far. Skipping only public and group dungeons, I am rapidly falling far behind in expected experience. I'm about 30% of the way through the VR4 area, but barely at 10% of the experience needed to gain the next level.

Oddly, it seemed to keep up for the first two VR levels. It wasn't until the end of VR3 that things seemed to really slow down. Lots of the quests I turn in only reward a few thousand xp. When you need 1.8 million to level, that works out to needing to complete nearly a thousand quests.

I submitted a customer service request days ago but have received no response.

You can "wait" to see a group downing a Dark Anchor and go "Smack" one character or heal some folks to get credit for the "Kill" and complete that Dark Anchor. In the last zone I think it's equal to the same VP as major quests (76k I think is was).

yes u have to do all dolmens/public dungeons/world bosses/solo dungeons. basically every single point of interest and i think even that is not quite enough in the end. you will be close tho. alternatively u can save urself alot of time and just grind anomalies in craglorn and be done in 1/4 of the time with better loot.

Are you sure you do all the quests? That's typically 5+ quests more than the zone achievement(more now that they nerfed it).
I don't PvP at all, I don't farm/grind, I have run every public and 2/3 groups dungeons I can but only once, I don't think this should make for a significant difference. I tend to reach next vet lvl in the middle of the zone, for example now I'm vet 5 in Bangkorai(I'm with EP), like 8% away from vet 6 and I'm like 1/3 done with the zone only, so I'll soon actually outlevel it.
Vet zones do tend to be pretty empty, but I haven't had much problems finding company for anchors - either keep an eye on zone for someone who needs company there or keep spamming it yourself at anchor til people come. I'm not entirely sure how much exp anchors give tho, I just don't like leaving stuff unfinished^^
By the way, some world bosses and publics are so ridiculously easy they can be soloed. By far not all nor even most, but still.

I have a ticket open with support about these issues. I have been making screenshots every time I complete a quest. I was able to compile some data on VP points gained in 11 quests in Alik'r Desert.

unfortunately the game is not meant to be run after 50++ solo. Its doable to using mechanics not necessarily in line with how you WANT to play.

If you are having issues you can grind the anomolies in craglorn as a v8 NO problem and get to v12 in about 2 hours.

Well, I finished Alik'r at like halfway to vet 6. I'm now vet 6, having completed barely half of Bangkorai, so I don't think there is a problem(aside from them clearly wanting us to play everything instead of grinding, which is not problem for me either) with this.
It seems that longer more complicated quests give more experience, which seems rather natural.

There is a problem with overbuffed mobs and lack of motivation to play through all of it, but there's perfectly enough experience out there.

I just finished Caldwells silver and Im into vr5 so I think that is just about right isnt it? No group dungeons, very few public dungeons, mostly just quests and solo dungeons. Oh, and cyrodiil. I dont pvp a whole lot but I got almost all cyrodiil shards which means I got a lot of exploring there.

I know I've been getting a fair bit of VP from clearing the mini dungeons and the dolmens. It can be a pain at certain times of day to find a few other people to do them with but at least you don't have to explicitly group, people can just rock up and pitch in.

Those are side quests, which are completely pointless and only gives ~1/10 the xp.

Unless the quest says "Questplace Objective" when you pick it up, you're wasting your time.
