Why so many campaigns?

Since I finished levelling through all the veteran zones and seen a bit of craglorn now I decided to start going to cyrodiil. My first time there and I'm vr10 but I have to ask. Why are there so many campaigns when the zone is so huge and they seem so sparsely populated?

Aye, why indeed. I think one would be enough along side other PVP battlegrounds.

Blame the vampire bug. Initially there were a lot of people in Cyrodiil but when people experienced the people exploiting vampires they got disgusted with pvp left it and never turned back.

It doesn't help that there are a large number of ex vampires out there now with the emperor skill line.

Despite this there are still some camapigns that are alive and fun, bloodthorn, dawnbreaker and wabajack seems to be highly populatd and active.

Except that even when the vampire bug was present, there were only about 3 campaigns that ever went above low population.

The issue is that there are simply too many campaigns. They need to cut the number and only open new campaigns when the population for all alliances in the existing ones cap on a regular basis.
