I agree when people in groups I'm playing in are using bows as their main others tell them to change it out because it's pretty worthless as it is now.
The magic 8 ball says ZOS will NERF the bow!

I am well aware of the bow issues ... now i just have to come up with the money to respec AND decide, as a NB, what weapon would make me at least marginally effective. At this point it feels like my non magic choices are:
Rebelle Nerf-dart launcher
Wiffle-ball bat
A fork and Spoon.

yes theres some insane logic in effect in the ZOS offices i think .. Dev 1 "hey man nobody is using bows in pve at vet lvls why you think that is ?"
Dev 2 " they must be so powerfull its easy mode , i guess we should nerf them "
Bow? Lame? LoL, NPC archers are _the_ most overpowered enemies in the game.
so the whole murder machine holy archer build for templar is not a good choice? Even if you put 35 in stam?
I'll give you that... NPC archers are second on the list behind healers/mages for my shield bash/one handed onslaught. But as players the bow is lackluster to say the least.
Don't you just luv when an arrow goes through a wall or rock to kill you?

Seriously asking here, i love it and never personally found anything wrong with it.

I've got multiple characters who use each of the weapon skill lines, and IMO bow is the weakest of them all. That's not to say that it can't be used effectively (it's a good option if you want to go all-ranged and alternate between magika and stamina attacks), but I still think it's the weakest weapon skill line - especially as you get to higher levels.malikwalker_ESO wrote: »Question: Do others really think the Bow Skill line isn't that good?

i opted for the other morph after a few times magnum shot knocked me back into another group of mobs or down a cliff . safer to knock stuff away from me magnum is better for pvp tho for sure. he he

arrow spray might better if it had better range and cost much less stamina but its very expensive
Volley and its morphs are the only stamina based location targetable AOE DOTs in the game, and can stack with the other class based magicka ones with Bombard rooting.
except its range is short and its weak
Snipe and its morphs can do 1k damage with a crit at ranges greater than any other ability in the game, with the focused aim morph also boosting ranged attacks range and power not just for you but ANYONE who is attacking the same target.
1k crit is utterly meh on vet mobs, a crouched heavy hit can do that. and snipe has the minimum range meaning i need plenty space for it to be usable.. and the 3 second windup is just toooooo much
Scatter shot is powerful in addition to knockback AND disorent, which one on one can again be timed in a way to stun lock mobs, the Magum shot morph does more damage and moves you back as well putting you at great range letting you decide on your next move against a stunned foe, and draining adds a snare that can keep a foe away even if they break the inital disorent.
scatter shot is good. i think you will find few complaints about scatter shot and poison arrow
Poison Arrow is so low cost that its one of the most easily spammable moves in the game, does good damage at long ranges and can be morphed to stun casting targets.
Its one of the trees i consider to be truely great and you make a topic about how useless you see it?
yes all told its weak. damage wise passives wise. I love the bow but its just not feasable in vet mode imo sorry. thats just my opinion tho
its only real weakness is that as a Stamina based skill line, you cant block or dodge as often as you might with say, destruction staff which you can just walk around blocking while spamming Pulsar, but its ability to keep enemys at range and PUMMEL them at that range is completly unmatched. Its the only weapon type that actually allows for a ranged combat build really.
