just thinking the european server is in texas

so the most propable place for a class action would be texas

as far as i know texas jurys tend to give people lots of money

so if a class action for fraud against european customers happens in texas

what do you think is going to happen to zenimax online ?

what will happen to the game ?

Well, since there's no legal basis for a suit, nothing would happen.

What are you talking about? Class action against what? What fraud are you even referring to? The fact that servers are located in the US?

No jury worth a damn would award any sort of class action settlement to anyone because of server locations in an MMO.

Do you even understand how law and class action lawsuits work?

Do you actually understand how franchises work? I know it's maintenance, but this is a terrible attempt at trolling. 0/10.

Judging from the text and the idea, I'd say it's more likely that Law School will be off limits for the next 8-9 years

Get yourself enrolled in a good ESL class at your local community college and afterwards we can start talking lawsuits.

im not a lawyer i just got common sense, and i heard of usa legal system

theres sure money to be made

and if i get usa legal system... legal basis doen t matter its the jury

and as us courts have decided that they are responsible for jurisdiction in foreign countrys (which is obviouesely totally illegal in international law)it might be so complicated that"theres no legal basis" is going to take 2500 lifetimes of lawyers

So far no class action suit has gone very far against any game company. However the suits have inspired several companies like Valve to add a "you can't file a law suit against us" in their EULA which you have to agree to in order to play and every time you log into the game you technically agree to it again.

It's like when credit card companies were getting sued for various reasons. They added a "you can't sue us, any arbitration will be handled by a committee of our choosing"

Well, if I ever subscribed to the stereotype that Europeans are better educated than Americans, you've helped me abandon it.

But just on the off-chance that you're serious: no.

Lol, it's more eurotrash playing armchair lawyer from the tv series they've pirated and watched. The servers will be moved when they are moved. Suck it up and play on. Or better yet, go play that European made MMORPG that came out. Oh...wait...there isn't one, is there.

Where to start, firstly European customers would take ZOS to court in Europe.
Second, European law already allows European Customers to demand a refund.
Third, I don't think a jury in those courts would be Texan.
Fourth, I'm reasonably sure the higher courts don't even have juries.

Fifth,The Big Bang is on tonight in Britain, this doesn't have much to do with the subject, but I'm a fan, and Sheldon is a Texan, so it will do.

I think you need to stop basing your understanding of the American legal system on fictitious television shows.

This was actually the funniest part of his post. The idea that a Texas jury would care about Europeans is funny enough for a sitcom.
