Maintenance for the week of December 15:
• PC/Mac: NA and EU megaservers for maintenance – December 15, 4:00AM EST (9:00 UTC) - 12:00PM EST (17:00 UTC)
• Xbox: NA and EU megaservers for maintenance – December 15, 4:00AM EST (9:00 UTC) - 12:00PM EST (17:00 UTC)
• PlayStation®: NA and EU megaservers for maintenance – December 15, 4:00AM EST (9:00 UTC) - 12:00PM EST (17:00 UTC)

This is how you can check your latency.

I just posted this reply on another thread but then thought it would be useful for anyone else that wanted to know how to check you game latency.

You can see your latency on the game by doing the following.

Open resource monitor. You can do that directly from the windows menu (or type "resource" into the program search box) or you can start task manager and click on the resource monitor in the performance tab (4th tab on task manager).

When resource monitor comes up click on the 5th tab labelled Network. Wait for all the various parts of the window to be populated with data.

Now, we are interested in the 3rd frame down. The one labelled TCP connections. In the 1st column marked image scroll down and you will find 4 entries for ESO all marked as eso.exe. If you then scroll the frame as far to the right as it will go you will see your latency in the last column (labelled Latency(ms)).

The column before latency also is important as it shows any packet loss. If you have anything other than 0 in this column then things will not be good for you as data packets are being lost between your pc and the server.

I am in the EU and normally have latency of 130-150 ms or thereabouts.

Hope this is of some use to people.

Yeah, I got a PC. I just don't feel the need to post it's specifications for an ego boost.

    350ms in Thailand ^.^

Thought all mega servers were to be spread-out globally and proper load balancing done.

Typically, in a mega-server environment, checking the host you are connected to only gives you the public-facing one and not necessarily the private server you have been routed to. (Geo-Clustering I think its called)

I test my latency by poking my finger into my belly, and if it wobbles back at a rate of 130 - 150 ms I say "yep, running as normal!" :p

Sorry guys... back on topic now!
    NA Mega-server
Basilthwaite - male Nord Templar Ebonheart Pact (unwittingly looks like Hulk Hogan. Trying to find some bright gold breeches to match the persona.)

Arwen Basilrond - female Wood Elf Nightblade Aldmeri Dominion (this character is smoken', but she's been advised to quite due to 'elf reasons!)

Sir Basil Ozarian - male Imperial Dragonknight Daggerfall Covenant (this character is titled, but not entitled!)

Ah I didn't know that. Thanks for the info. Well, it should at least give you a rough guide though. And the packet loss info is useful.

And anyone on NA servers is going to have latency of 10 minutes with packet loss 100% atm as they have just taken the server down >:)

Thanks for that. I love to check things like that. Nice that windows has made it easier. We used to have to do it at the command prompt.

Yeah I remember having to do the same. And I am still not convinced that this is not actually a DOS game.
