Hi guys!
First to say: Im here to help my friend who tries to play eso the first time. He has not much experience with programs, so Im helping him.
Like said already, he bought the old TU version (I think thats important) of ESO and is currently trying to update it via an updated folder from a friend.
In most cases, this wouldn't cause so much trouble I think, but i fear that consolidation of EU and US Servers into one client is making it very problematic.
He installed the client, stopped and closed it when it began to update the game and then replaced the The Elder Srolls Online install-folder with the one from his friend.
Now his folder had the EU on its end, the folder from his friend did not have this and was not accepted/found. So he added the EU in the name of the folder and now we are stuck at the "PatchManifestError_VersionFailMessage"- Error 209.
He already restarted the Launcher and even the pc but its not working. Right now he is trying out the solutions from the FAQ of this error. If this does not help, is there someone who can guess whats the problem?
Oh and just to tell the guys who dont believe anymore that there are places with horrible internet: he has a contract which only provides him 15GB to download monthly, then his connection is throttled down to 50KB/s or something. He has to get it working this way.
