Cannot jump in sneak

Not sure if this is supposed to be how it should be but after the patch I cannot jump while in sneak anymore. Before the patch I was able to do so. It is like hitting a ceiling when you try to jump in sneak.

    I read the whole patch notes didnt see anything about sneak with no jump, to almost no jump...
    I have almost no jump in sneak... so lets see if anything changes.

    @ZOS_GinaBruno Any chance this is a bug? I lost the ability to jump while in stealth like the two people above. Further I noticed that if I swap to my DW bar which enables my Night's Silence 5 piece bonus then enter sneak/stealth, I can jump around as normal. But any other weapon type and its like I'm smacking into an invisible ceiling just two inches above my head.

    Same here and for the two guildmates I was with. Can only jump knee height which means you can't even jump over low walls. This was in Haderus NA btw.

    Update. Video of the bug in action. It is stutter though. Ram usage was absurd while recording. Don't mind quality. I play and record on the same machine (forcing me to use medium game settings), but the 720p option should help a bit.

    Edit: Spyher ran into the bug as well. Only the thing that caused it for him was being snared. So it seems that anything that reduces your movement speed will impair your ability to jump.

    Am I the only person who likes this "bug"? You shouldn't be able to jump as high in stealth imo.

    Nope, I love this 'bug' and zone chat in IC last night had lots of praise for it too. Sneak jumping was very OP before and I didn't even think people could consider this a bug until this thread.

    Guess people really don't like anything at all being taken away.

    It is not OP. It's a simple jump that is useful for getting around maps in tight spots like thieving between vendors and what not. Hope it is fixed asap.

    It's more that it was undocumented than anything else. That they would bother to go in and code this when it was never an issue or a part of gameplay people considered problematic.

    Anyways, same issue here, I can barely jump over a pebble now as my character apparently hits an invisible wall over the head. This issue also affects jumping outside of stealth or on the horse, but not as much as in stealth. Still annoying as hell!

    This is really a problem. Since we can't exactly climb in the game we have to jump over or onto things, thus I think we really need to be able to jump/climp stealthily. I understand the people saying 'jumping shouldn't be stealthy' but practically speaking in this game, jumping while stealthed isn't hopping around waving your arms in the air, this bug interferes with basic perfectly stealthy movements like trying to get over a rock, minor stair edging, or tree-root. I honestly don't think it makes sense that you would be this handicapped while stealthed, sometimes you need to be agile in order to be stealthy. It's a huge problem for people trying to be stealthy who are probably taking back-routs and not just walking down the paved pathways - because they are Sneaking after all you know, you need to be able to hop back fences stealthily or else What's The Point in sneaking at all if you can only handle the open road, seriously? Please please fix this soon!!!!

    I would like to concur with the "sneak jump nerf needs fixed" crowd. As I see it, if this was a deliberate change, it's intended to make stealth more challenging and possibly less "OP" (to my knowledge, it's not).

    However, if the devteam feels that this change is necessary for balance, then I will have to presume that they will introduce climbing and crawling mechanics. A regular-height jump during stealth is basically a workaround for the fact that you can't move your character's arms and legs the way a normal person would. You can't silently pull yourself up on that rock that's only waist- or even knee-high, so you have to jump instead. Your Mission Impossible stealth missions become crippled due to a lack of a (very complicated) game mechanic.

    Since those mechanics don't exist, I would have to presume that this is either a bug or a severe oversight.

    ...thinking on it though, those climbing mechanics would be keen. I've missed climbing since the Daggerfall days, ya know? I know, I know, Morrowind had Levitate, but that wasn't the same. Anyway, I'll understand if you need to put off fixing IC to work on such a complicated mechanic. :) Or... you know... just fix jump height. Either one is fine with me. :)

    Can we please get some information if this is a bug that will be fixed with today's maintenance, or if it is an intended change?
    When you jump while crouched in stealth you hit an invisible ceiling which stops you from jumping to the usual height. It is making stealth gameplay unnecessarily difficult, and it is affecting everything you do in stealth, including justice shenanigans.

    Looking more and more to me like an intended change that conveniently did not make it to the patch notes. I wonder why.

    Holy crap it was funny this morning. We're approaching the temple for the scroll, all stealthily we move our way forward, a tiny step in front of us and every one fails at jumping it 5 times in a row. Massive fail.

    Was not an issue on PTS yet somehow this went into the Live...

    Crouch jumping has not worked on any of my characters since 2.1 went live. Today (9/8/15) though it's working on my NB, however it still doesn't work on my Sorc. Have not tried DK or Temp yet.

    PTS is a controlled environment. It didn't appear on PTS out of the fact that the code branch is different. Its a case of "controlled vs wild".

    That said, the bug is specifically this: anything that would reduce your movement speed also breaks your ability to jump in sneak. Natural sneak, snares, and NB Cripple can do this. The workarounds are: be a vampire with Dark Stalker passive, use a 5 piece Night's Silence set (must be the active set before you go into sneak), use Concealed weapon or all of the above.

    Still waiting for a fix. It didn't make it in this week so I believe they'd say they are still investigating or they found it and are working on fixing it.

    @Ethoir That would explain why Rapid Maneuver can return stealth jump height to normal. Now it makes sense. Thanks!

    Noticed the fact that movement impairing effects such as the mentioned snares will break your ability to jump outright, wither you are in sneak or not. >_> Learned this today while running (more like sprinting) from a few Daedra. But yeah, RM can be used to temporarily get your jump height back. So can Double Take and Hasty Retreat.

    Besides of not being able to jump in sneak like I should (and not only in sneak), I also encountered another bug that involves jumping: it sometimes happens (after the update) that my character jumps waaayy too far, like 5 meters maybe. I did nothing special, just walking/running normal on a plain surface trying to jump up to a wayshrine or a small rock or whatever. Whenever it happens, I always hope no one saw that because it looks like a frog lol

    Because of this, stealth for me is worthless now :( I normally use it to skirt mobs or get behind a tough boss, but tiny rocks can't even be hopped over, and I am NOT gonna keep RM on my bar just to bypass the restriction. Sad khajiit is sad.
