Discussion/Request - Capes and Cloaks

Hi everyone.

I'm new in the game, but i never heard about capes and cloaks. I think this will be a beautiful add to the game. I played Oblivion and Skyrim hundreds of times and my favorite cosmetic mods are about capes and cloaks. I think my fellow players will agree with me, every knight and warrior want to show a beautiful cape in their backs. Maybe capes for the Pact, Covenant and the Dominion, and other colors and types, possible craft, rare versions etc.

I beg your pardon if anyone has posted something about that. This idea came by observing the game and i feel something is missed. I just want to contribute. In my opinion the look of the current armors and clothes are really bad, but we have the Dye sistem to resolve this issue.

I ask for the opinion for the other players about that, if this sugestion is really something good or not.

Thanks and i really love if i see this idea in the game.

You cannot fight with capes and stuff! That is just cosmetic no need as actual gear slot
Im not the Hero you need, im the Troll you deserve!

I suggested only a cosmetic add. And equipable, if someone doesn't want this.

I've seen cloaks and capes in LotRO which are way better than the toilet-paper strips you have in WoW but I'm no fan of them. (Collect them like crazy in my wardrobe anyway of course)
Most of the time they get in the way of armor and you get clipping errors that look just horrible. That's why I don't use them.
They could be nice used with guild designs but in the end... yes..no..yes.. no...
If they will be just cosmetic they will end up cluttering my bags... eeww!

    • I'm not weird I'm limited edition!

That's depend how it will be maked by the developers... Could be a great add to the game, the look etc? Can be enhanced like other stuff? Will be another *** bugged and non functional? That remains to be seen if this is implemented in the game... All of this is in the hands of the developers. I only posted an idea.

Yes you did, and I never said it's a bad one
But the whole thing will stand and fall with what those cloaks bring to the game and whether they can really make them look good.

Yes please. Maybe ZOS can make capes a bit like dyes. Make them different colours and maybe symbols, like for your alliance, race or even class.

As a former LOTRO player I'm not totally against the idea. It could give some personal recognition on the battlefield. But to make it realistic the cloaks must wave, i.e. like flapping in the wind when you're gallopping on your horse. It would put an extra strain on the FPS rate, especially in PvP when all players show up with "colours blazing in the sun". I'm not sure if players are willing to trait FPS for fashion. Although if we have to die, we might as well do it well dressed ;)

It has been suggested before, and it's understandable that it would come up again. Many people want them, and if they were easy to make, the devs probably would have done it already.

The problem is, that technically, cloaks are surprisingly hard to handle. They tend to clip with everything, and to animate them properly you'd need whole lot of "moving parts" as well which is heavily taxing on performance if everybody has it, especially in scenarios like mass pvp.
