I have to agree that the number of aggressive talking quest givers has increased to ridiculous proportions. First it was just 'Comrade, a word' then 'dO yOu KnOw HoW lOnG i'Ve BeEn LoOkInG fOr YoU???' now 'Excuse me please I have a message for you' and 'Can you believe it??? Dragonzzz! In your own homeland!!!'
I wish ZOS would allow us to 'mute' quest givers or make those NPCs do nothing until you actually choose to accept the DLC starting quest from your Collections tab. Or they could just create one Adventure Board in the towns where you can pick up Quest starter notices that lead you to the DLC starting quests, instead of 6+ talking NPCs all over the place.
That said, I wouldn't start a new account just because of some annoying NPCs. All your achievements, collections, DLC unlocks would have to be unlocked again, not to mention your mats gold and cp levels.

Why are you making multiple threads to ask the same question?
(and this isn't that weird double-post thing that often happens around here, it's a different thread with the same question, just worded differently.)

It seemed that people glossed over the question where I asked where to get the base game. They were answering the other stuff, but not that.
So I made that it's own thread. If there was a way to edit my post, I would do so.

Look in the upper left hand corner where it says "store." Standard edition is available there for 10 bucks.

The problem will be that the Standard Edition now includes Morrowind as part of the base game. Therefore the OP will start a new account in Morrowind's tutorial (which was actually REALLY good!), and still have to travel to reach the original game MQ.

Well that's as good as it's gonna get for him unless he wants to take his chances on Amazon where he'll pay more and it's not exactly clear what he'll actually get.

And what's more immersion breaking than having Vanus Galerion appear for the Summerset prologue quest in the Daggerfall mages guild at the same time you're going there to talk to him for Messages Across Tamriel? They need to have an option to hide certain TYPES of quest markers until you're ready to do them. Because a new player coming into the game and going into a base game city and seeing all these other quests lying around that has them going to some far flung end of the world they haven't been to yet and being told to "get to Summerset/Elsweyr immediatley!" After completing them is confusing and irritating. Especially if they dont own that content. I get that it's basically promotional material, but at least give an option to disable or hide quest markers or givers.

Doing the early main story quests and hearing about Abnur Tharn's betrayal and how we'll have to hunt him down, then heading into town and getting told he's got a letter for you and wants to meet up for a chat about his great idea to save the world. And then after that being sent to rescue him from Coldharbour where he's been imprisoned since the Soulburst.
<snip>
Btw you can just mute dialogue and no more annoying noise, I don't like voice anyway, I prefer imagine them myself.
