DPS meter add-on

Having just recently come from WoW there was quite a few real time DPS meter add-ons that were nice to have. You could see how you were faring compared to your group members.

Is there anything like that for ESO? If not real-time then a log that was easy to read post-dungeon?

Combat Metrics is a good one.

The best you're gonna get is combat metrics which shows your own DPS and how much % of the group damage you did.

There used to be an addon which showed everyone's DPS numbers in the group much like what you ask for, but people were..... sensitive about it. So the devs removed the API for something like that to be possible.

It shows total group dps, your %, buffs and debuffs uptimes, etc. Very informative.

Sad isn't it? Some people don't like being exposed.

They just dont realize that their low dps is still very noticeable for everyone in group. :D

I have run vet dungeons when i was lower leveled and got carried. I have carried other groups through places. My whole group has wiped. and I have sat around waiting on a replacement. These things have been endured by all. low dps players quit or cant find a consistent group....why beat dead horse?***ik no comment might have been preferable here***

People work harder when they know they're getting measured. That's why its good to have a DPS meter.

If WoW players can learn to deal with it I would think any player base can.

FTC has an option for group dps, the catch is only the people running FTC and having that option turned on can see each others parses. THE BEST thing to do is to just post your parse in group chat after every boss, that usually starts a train of everyone else posting their parses. On the other hand, if there are couple people consistently not posting, you can laugh at them. It is a win/win situation tbh.

People where also being a******s about it, which is the other half of why the group DPS function was removed form the API ;)

You can still have fun pointing out when people are doing 5k dps in a vet pug with combat metrics. Some people do react as if you just insulted their manhood. Still better than letting them be clueless about why they're getting kicked half the time.

People can see low dps without any addons. Its really simple, you can see boss' hp, you can see how long the fight takes... It'll be pretty obvious even if ZOS would disable all addons.

I dunno.. I'd say the average FFXIV is far more advanced than the average WoW player.. and posting parses gets all kinds of people crying over there. If you even suggest doing it, dozens of people will quote rules, dev posts, and RL threats. Its crazy.

If you look around in the forums and in game there obviously are not many players who will admit that they're not good. Everyone is trying to tell themselves they're great because they could beat overland content and got to CP 660. It's easy to see why numbers would be frowned upon - can't argue them.

That said I do think that the observation of DPS has become a bit of obsessive. Unless you're doing Vet Trials it doesn't matter if you're doing 15k or 25k. It gets really painful only if combined group DPS is around 20k or so, because the longer the fight goes the window for mistakes gets much bigger and most people who can't deal solid damage aren't good at surviving either.

The situation wouldn't be better if we could see the exact numbers though. People have posted artificial inflated numbers on chat before that, and kicks from group happen frequently now anyway too.
