64bit FPS issue SOLVED!!! NVIDIA Laptops

64 bit simply was not running NVIDIA graphics chip, instead using the built in Intel chip.
By right-clicking on eso64.exe and choosing from the context menu "Run With Graphics Processor --> High Performance NVIDIA Processor" I now get the same FPS in 64bit as in 32bit, same as before TG patch.

I hope this helps others, and to help ZoS locate the bug.

I don't get that when I right-click.

You can try setting it as the default instead. Look in your system tray and click on the "Show hidden icons" arrow. Then click the NVIDIA GPU activity icon. As in this pic:

Choose "Customize which programs use the GPU"

The NVIDIA control panel should pop up.
EDIT: To bring up NVIDIA control panel in Win10 I pull up the menu, choose All Apps, scroll down to Windows System, and choose Control Panel. When that pops up, click on NVIDIA Control Panel.

• Choose Manage 3D settings (don't worry, it is not really about 3D).
• Click on the Program settings tab.
• Under "1. Select a Program..." click the Add button.
• Click the Browse button
• Find eso64.exe and select it
• Under "2. Select the preferred graphics processor..." select "High-Performance NVIDIA processor"
• Click Apply (takes a few seconds to complete)
• Close the control panel and try your 64 bit client.

This is a super-important thread considering today's change to the Launcher which has added a new default option for the game to run using the 64 bit client. @Zmitsu from Dominion Imperial Guard deserves all the praise for finding this thread, and thus saving me and several other Guildies a whole load of time .

I didn't need new graphics drivers after all... just needed to make sure the game was using my proper video card rather than struggling to run using Integrated Graphics (ouch!).

I just used the 'Send Feedback' option in the NVIDIA GeForce Experience to let Nvidia know that ESO has 2 game clients. Not sure if the issue is Nvidia not recognizing eso64.exe as needing high-performance GPU or if ZOS isn't using the proper API calls to let the driver know it should use the high-performance GPU.

Regardless of the actual issue, letting both companies know the proper GPU isn't being used will probably get the issue solved faster so we won't have to manually change our video setting for each ZOS game client. Everyone who can should send feedback to Nvidia. There are (at least) 2 threads here so ZOS should be aware of this issue.

Oh my gosh! Thanks so much!

I was getting good fps in 32 bit but constant "black screens" if I used 64 no black screens, but horrible fps. Now I don't have to choose between the lesser of two evils.

This for me seemed to fix inability to log into game (crashed before this) after the recent update.

Thank you so very much. This fixed the issue for me.

I apparently have 2 .exe files because...Steam? Or maybe it's just two pathways because of Steam and the ZoS launcher, which can run separately outside of Steam. Anyway, I ended up having to configure the graphics card twice for both instances, so if anyone tries this and it doesn't seem to work, that may be why. When I added a new setting, ESO showed up in the recently used list, so I added that version as well as the one to which I had directed it. Now the game works no matter how I launch. FYI in case anyone else runs into this issue.

I'm having this problem on my system, but I'm not running on a laptop. I can't get past login on either 32bit or 64bit. Does anyone know how to assign this through a shortcut dash command or by some other method?
